Why two different words for “Proud” and “Haughty” in hebrew in verse 1a?
Maturity knows ones limits (verse 1b)
Content in light of exile? (vs 2)
hope means “to wait - to look forward”
The call of the Psalmist - for Israel to put their hope in the Lord
Does the weaning mean that the psalmist no longer demands of God, but is not willing to wait? Could it be a change of priority from self to God (a baby demands milk when it is hungry and the mother bends to it. A weaned child waits until the mother is ready)?
The psalmists description of self is also a challenge to the reader to emulate.
