Biblical Principles Concerning Money:
Biblical Principles Concerning Money:
God owns everything, we are just stewards. Job 41:11 “Who has first given to me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.”
Financial success can be a blessing from God. Proverbs 10:22 “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.”
The love of money is dangerous. 1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”
Avoid ill-gotten gain. Proverbs 10:2 “Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death.”
A wise man saves. Proverbs 13:22 “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous.”
Making money work is encouraged. Matthew 25
Give God His due. Malachi 3:10 “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”
Tithes and offerings
Live generously. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 “As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”
Don’t turn God’s blessings into a curse. Daniel 4:30 “and the king answered and said, “Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?””
