I. A Better Sanctuary vs. 1-2

A. The sanctuary that Jesus ministers in is a superior one to the one on Earth. As verse 5 says in quoting Ex. 25:40. The sanctuary that the Earthly/Aaronic priest served in is a mere copy.
B. The fact that Jesus sat down, points out that the sacrificial system is obsolete.
C. It is a better sanctuary in the fact that no sin has ever entered there.

II. A Better Sacrifice vs. 3

A. Every high priest had to offer up sacrifices for their own sins, then for the sins of the people.
B. Jesus didn’t sin, so He didn’t have to do that.
C. The reason that this is repeated, is because the gifts and sacrifices were for the worship of someone greater than themselves. No one is greater than Yahweh! He is completely self-sustaining. He doesn’t need our worship, but He wants it because He deserves it. He doesn’t have need of the gifts or sacrifice. They were symbols pointing to Jesus!

III. A Better Service vs. 4-6

A. Jesus is from Judah, not the tribe of Levite. He couldn’t have been a priest on this Earth in His time.
B. The old covenant was carried out in the old tabernacle.
C. Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant, with a better promise. (Moses/old mediator/old covenant/old promises (vows) vs. Christ/new mediator/new covenant/ better promises (vows)/wedding/water into wine ex)
