Luke 9:28-32
Luke 9:28-32
Being in Church or with Jesus does not equate intimacy or knowing. Eph 1:17-18
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
Your physical condition could impart your spirit
They were probably tired because of the journey to the mountain
While they were sleepy they were disoriented and lacked focus.
They lacked personality and identity while they were asleep.
Sleep is useful but could also be unproductive when abused
When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; So shall your poverty come like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.
Application - How do we wake up from our spiritual slumber?
Spend time with God Ps 1:1-3
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Watch your company & input.
Read & Meditate on the scripture.
2. Pray in the Holy Spirit Jude 20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
When we do this we will develop spiritually and be able to display strength and resist the enemy.
3. Become active and work for Him.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
