Judas - Matt. 27:3-5
Matthew 27:3–5 ESV
3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.
Whats the difference? 2 Cor. 7:10

10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
“ Repentance is as necessary to salvation by faith as the ankle is to walking. The one does not act apart from the other. I cannot come to Christ in faith without turning from sin in repentance.” - Sinclair Ferguson
Repentance is not an initial emotional response to Jesus, it is a lifelong “restoration of godliness.”
Jeremiah 4:4 ESV

2 Timothy 2:24–26 ESV

God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
Repentance
Repentance will not make you see Christ, but to see Christ will give you repentance.
