Call to worship
Psalm 5:7–8 NKJV
7 But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple. 8 Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.
Giving
2 Corinthians 8:1–2 NKJV
1 Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: 2 that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.
Today's Text:
Matthew 10:21–28 NKJV
21 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. 27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Persecution for the Kingdom

1. Truth will make you choose.

Matthew 10:21–22 NKJV
21 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
This points to the end times, but also is fulfilled in the life of Jesus.
Micah 7:6 NKJV
6 For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.
This is persecution for the sake of the truth of the kingdom and the truth of that Kingdom not for other things. Some of those other things might be:
Your character defects.
sometimes its the lack of communication that causes problems.
None the less a choice has to be made.
Joshua 24:15 NKJV
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

2. Like pain causes change, persecution has historically spreed the gospel. Persecution will spreed the gospel again.

Matthew 10:23–26 NKJV
23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.
Pain spreads the gospel.
The more the world rejects the kingdom and its message the more people get to here the message from a first hand messenger.
the said about Jesus that he was of the devil. the will say it about us.
there will come a day when all truth is exposed hold on and hold out truth is on her way.

3. What I tell you know proclaim! The worlds power is but physical mine is eternal!

Matthew 10:27–28 NKJV
27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
The Messages that I spoke to you in parables speak plainly.
The power that looks so deadly is Just physical there is a power that is greater. it is spiritual and eternal.
