Intro

A bubbling natural spring bursting out of the hidden depths of the earth

safe to drink?

want to drink it?

even water?

outside, smells or looks (tree by fruits so to speak)

But what makes it that way

its the hidden life of the spring

what is bubbling up from.

deep caverns below, maybe heated underwater lake

maybe contaminated pustule of notquitewater

what before the water bubbles out matters most

makes stuff that bubbles out good or bad

Hidden vs Public

today hear of Christ baptism

baptized 30,

beginning public ministry

bubbling into public of the hidden life of Jesus those many years before.

deep beneath the public surface

hidden mystery

but what were years before

besides birth and temple, know almost nothing vast majority of life

only see the very brief bubbling up of his public life which seemed to last for about 3 years of his 33 year old life.

less than 10th of his entire life.

Influence

beyond a reasonable doubt most influential man,

the largest religion about a 3rd of the entire Earth’s population today, not to mention the many in the past who consistently believed the same teachings.

today, guess at least a 4th daily try to emulate Christ

revolutionary Western civilization for over a millennia direct product.

Yet barely had a public career

about 3 years

tiny little group of followers in a tiny backwater empire

yet Julius Caesar, Emperor Augustus have nothing on him

most influential woman , Mary

only reason we really even know of her is because she gave birth to Christ

yet she is Empress of the heavens lower only to God

God does nothing in vain, doesnt waste anything

all this despite either no public life or very tiny, despite resplendent life giving bubbles they were

what then does mean about the hidden simple life unseen underneath?

Christ sanctified the hidden life

Christ made humble simple everyday holy

reverses expectations

disproportionately spent his life in hidden life rather than empire building

romance btwn peasant maiden + prince (women)

great wars (men)

but pale reflection of such spiritual love and combat found in common hidden life

silent interior prayer

walked our walk talked our talk in all things but sin

since underneath matter most we can see that the simple life

mundane his domain

just as most important word, God’s Divine name, common ignored and used in almost ever sentence,

so too most important life common and often ignored

feel life mundane

remember the hidden life of Christ and Mary

common life is divine and HIS focus

kings and queens could have only dreamed to have been so great

Dont hear not saying though.

its not what given that matters most, what you do with it

bad family situations

truest common and mundane hidden life, that of the soul, matters even more

this is where the holiest of crusades are fought

Conclusion

As God foretells, nothing that is hidden will remain hidden!!

appearances will soon reflect reality and no longer conceal it again

the hidden life of the soul and what happens behind closed doors will burst out like a gyser into the new heavens and earth

so secure the hidden life first and foremost
