What is the Story of the Bible

Gen 1-2

Creation-

Man Commanded to go and have dominion over the earth

Gen 3

Mankind Falls into sin, but God promises a redeemer

The whole old testament traces the line of this seed that is promised to Man.

All of the covenants in the old testament point to the one who would come and redeem mankind.

Rom 3:21-26

God has satisfied His justice and set free Man from the weight of sin in Christ.

All the sin of God’s saints was laid on Christ

With Christ coming He established a new humanity.

God is literally recreating the World through Jesus and one day the work will be finished when Christ Returns

Rev 21-22

Here we see the description of the new heavens and the new earth.

As Christians we are able to see where we are in history. God has written this beautiful story and declared the end to us, the question is now where will I end up in the end.

What is the benefit of understanding the whole story of the bible? How can it help us when we read scripture?

How does it encourage us as believers to know that God already knows and tells us how the story ends?

Does it affect how you look at life knowing that your life is a part of this grand story that God has written? How can this be encouraging?
