Communion

Let’s go back to the night Jesus instituted the Last Supper.
Sometimes, doing this every week, we can forget significance, but we are told to remember.
Remember Jesus said to Peter to go and organise it -
Luke 22:7 ESV
Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.
Luke 22:8 ESV
So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.”
Peter not knowing that Jesus, was about to the perfect Lamb,
Imagine - The disciples, sitting around with their King | Best friend | They had no idea what was coming | What Jesus was about to explain wouldn’t make sense to them but let’s remember - Let’s remember that we take communion because Jesus Died for you - Let’s hear Jesus’ words with the realisation that we are made right with GOD because of What JESUS did on the cross | Let’s read these words knowing that JESUS KNEW the SUFFERING that he was about to endure | the BEATING | The WHIPPING | The SHAME | For you…for your salvation | For your heart | For your forgivenss
Luke 22:17–19 ESV
And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
Take Cup
The NEW COVENANT - THE NEW COVENANT between us and God - Made right, through the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
