Psalm 40:1-11 / Isaiah 49:1-7
John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
Exodus 4:1 “Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’ ””
Judges 6:13 “And Gideon said to him, “Please, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.””
God’s people have often limited their ministry, their reach, based on their own insecurities of their capabilities, when God’s work; Kingdom work has never been based upon our innate capability.
When Satan says too small, not enough, he’s accusing you, saying YOU are too small. YOU are not enough.
Let’s take a look in The Word and see what God might be saying when He says too small. Not enough:

Calling and Authority

Jesus v1

called from the womb
Angelic announcement
Recognized by John
John 1:29 “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

Us Today

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Your being born again; called out by God’s Holy Spirit was news to you, but it was never news to God!
This is no way invalidates or minimizes our evangelical invitation; you MUST be born again!
After we are saved, we need to come to realize we were saved by God on purpose. He has had a pplan for your life since you were in your mother’s womb. In fact, since God is eternal, He has had a plan for your like since before the foundation of the world...
God’s reply to Gideon: But I will be with you.
God never sends his people where He doesn’t accompany them

Equipping and Gifting

Jesus v2-3

He MADE my mouth like a sharp sword
He HID me in His quiver
He said He would be glorified in me.

Us

1 Corinthians 1:4-7 “I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge— 6 even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— 7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,”
What then?
If we are not lacking, why do we doubt?
Why do we deny
God’s reply to Moses: I made you with both your strengths and your weaknesses. I’ve given you Aaron.
God never sends his people to work when He doesn’t equip them.

Scope and Purpose

Failure - v4

The appearance of failure, of vanity is paradox
The failures credited to Jesus were ours
The victory credited to God’s people is His

Success - v5-7

1 Samuel 17:45 “Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”
God is my strength
Too Small / Not Enough
Because of The Lord, who has chosen you
It is not enough for you to be saved
It is not enough to be a witness to your family.
It is not enough to be a witness to your attending church family.
It is not enough to be a witness to churched people.
It is not enough to be a witness to who you think you can reach
Church family, was Moses enough to fulfill God’s calling on him? Was Gideon enough to lead God’s people as God called him to do? So too are you enough, because Jesus is enough. God IS enough, and He has chosen you.
May you be consciously aware that God has given you the shield of His salvation; His help makes you great (2 Sam. 22:36, NASB).
