Introduction
We have come to the end of our Kingdom Culture series. You're probably tired of hearing about culture and the word culture.
My hope is that you’ve been challenged throughout this series:
Week 1 — attitude of someone that embodies Kingdom culture; gathering jars
Week 2 — what a Kingdom culture carrier looks like; servant, set apart
Week 3 — winning ground always starts within; fully surrendered vessels
Body
Tonight I wanted to shift gears a little bit…
Look at who we are as CARR Yth
Vision: CARR Yth exists so that all students can find LIFE, FREEDOM, HEALING, and PURPOSE.
1 John 5:12 NIV
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
We, as Christians, have assurance in Jesus Christ. Not by our performance or behavior, but through Him.
Being saved and given life isn’t just for that one time. It gives us assurance and it’s what keeps us living out our faith.
Galatians 5:1 NIV
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Through Christ we have life, but we also get to walk in freedom. Many people lose sight of this truth…
James 5:16 NIV
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
God is the ultimate physician. Last week we talked about us coming to Him…
He also still heals in the physical.
Romans 12:4–6 NIV
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;
We have a common ground that is found in Christ, but He knit everyone unique.
Each of us in the body of Christ plays an intricate part in the growing the Kingdom.
Mission: CARR Yth is a place for you to get connected and uncover how God can use you for Kingdom influence.
Slogan: Community is God’s design.
Early on in the Bible, in Genesis, we see that God laid the foundation for Christians and The Church.
We see God speaking everything into existence, then He creates Adam and they’re walking through the Garden together.
God realizes that no man is fit to be alone. He says that. How crazy is that?!
Adam walked with God, but still God knew that man needed community.
So then, God creates Eve for Adam.
God never intended and never will intend for man to do life alone; and if you are doing life alone you’re in the right place.
That phrase, “Two heads are better than one.” is true in church. How much harder does the enemy have to scheme against a group? How much easier is his schemes against the one?
MATTHEW 26:6-13
In this story, Mary, sister of Lazarus, is at Simon’s house and Jesus is there at the dining room table.
She brings a jar of perfume and pours it on Jesus’ feet. It was likely all she had.
Mary shows up three times in the New Testament. Here in Matthew, in Luke 10 when she welcomes Jesus into her house, and in John 11 when Lazarus dies.
In these three passages, Mary show us that we should anoint [surrender ourselves] Jesus no matter: who is around us, our priorities (to-do list), and no matter the situation or circumstance.
Conclusion
Every time we come to this place, my prayer is that we would approach the throne and just like Mary, be fully surrendered and pressed in to what God has in store for CARR Yth.
