We are gonna talk about the door that we are opening as we read God’s Word in a year!
TODAY IS THE MOST READ VERSE IN THE BIBLE
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

IN GENESIS THE WRITER INTRODUCES US TO GOD. DOESN’T TRY TO PROVE GOD JUST INTRODUCES US TO GOD
INTRODUCTION ILLUSTRATION “I WANT YOU TO MEET GOD”
there is so much evidence for God but the writer doesn’t try to do any of that He just introduces us to this God that we need to know. God was there and is there and will always be there.
God creates everything from nothing by He himself was not made. The writer opens the door and shows how God is revealing himself to us.
IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED “BARRA”

CREATED OUT OF NOTHING.
God is so powerful that He spoke creation everything you and I see into creation. His words are so powerful and you and I have the ability to read His word. Jesus was called the word. The word made flesh.
1 Timothy “God breathed his word on the writers of the Bible”. And you and I get to read this.
YOUR LIFE AND MINE HINGES ON GENESIS 1:1 “1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
WERE WE CREATED??? GOD SPOKE AND EVERYTHING WAS FORMED? OR ARE WE A PRODUCT OF CHANCE? Creation or an amazing accident.
BY DESIGN - IM MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD.
There a plan, a purpose. There’s eternity. There is meaning to my life.
BUT IF IM AN ACCIDENT JUST A PRODUCT OF RANDOM CHANCE...
Then there is no purpose. No reason. Just Evolution. Darwinism.
YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT GOD MADE YOU. HE CREATED YOU. HE MADE THE WORLD
The Bible says that we are born with Eternity in our hearts.
Dr. Paul Doty said from Harvard University, "Our bodies are made up of 30 trillion cells. Every one of those cells are more complicated than New York City." Hopefully they're in much better shape than New York City
Sir Frederick Hoyle, an expert on the origin of the universe, writes, "Believing life could result from chance is like believing a tornado could sweep through a junkyard and the winds accidentally assemble a fully functioning Boeing 747
Proverbs says “A FOOL SAYS IN HIS OWN HEART THERE IS NO GOD”
THE WORD FOOD ISN’T intellectual problem. It’s not that some people just are fool and can’t help it. It’s behavioral. People choose to push away God because we don’t want God in our stuff. We don’t want God to interfere with our life.
Because if God interferes with my life that may mean I need to change. That may mean there is something better for my life.
And if you look around today in our culture can we all agree that as a nation we have tried to push God out of the picture. And what we are seeing today is what happens when God get’s pushed out of the picture.
2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
Creation. Adam and Eve
They had an open door policy with God. Could talk and walk with him. But they decided to make their own way. To decide what was best for themselves. They pushed God out of the picture out of their decisions.
AND BECAUSE OF SIN… THE OPEN DOOR WAS SLAMMED SHUT
A barrier between God and man.
God saw the door dilemma and could have said “im done im out you get what you deserve.” But God made a plan. Because this problem was serious.
Because of sin Adam and eve were kicked out of the garden of Eden.
Then we have Cain and Abel. The first murder in the Bible.
Then we have Abraham who was called to go. and he made mistakes, then we have LOT and he was a man full of mistakes. Then as we talked about last week the story of ISRAEL over and over was them running from God.
But in exodus right before God sets them free the passover happens and it’s called that to this day. It’s when God told his people put the blood of a lamb, foreshadowing, on your what.... door. And I will passover your house.
Jesus announced in John 10:9
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
The door was open, man sinned and slammed it shut, God foreshadowed the door, then Jesus saying I AM THE DOOR.
In revelation Ch. 3 Jesus says “Behold I stand at the door and knock.
God made this all happen it was his will but you and I have a will as well.
You can open the door and let Jesus in… or not. It’s your choice.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
1st creation… sin slammed the door but Jesus says trust in me, I am the door, and you will become a new creation.
