Reading of the obituary

Mr. Ken Chancey a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2023, at his home. He was 86.

Mr. Ken was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Harzie C. Chancey and Turessa (Two re’sa) Johnson Chancey. He lived his entire life in the Headland, Alabama area, except for when he was serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  When he was in the military, he was stationed for the most part in Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. After his retirement from the military, he also retired from autobody repair. He was an avid outdoorsman where he loved hunting and fishing. He was president and owner of R&R Hunting Club. He enjoyed camping with the Wiregrass Good Sam’s Club.  He was a member of the Blackwood Church. Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, Betty Jean Gissendanner Chancey; his daughter, Kim Chancey; his sons, Timothy F. Chancey and Chad K. Chancey (Marcetta); his step-daughter, Paula Gilley Woodham; his sisters, Margaret Newman (Frank) and Linda Chancey; his grandchildren, Chris Chancey (Leah), Ryan Chancey (Amanda), Justin Kirkman (Chelsey), Stone Woodham, Brody Woodham, Wyatt Woodham, Foster Chancey, Randi Chancey, and Marni Chancey; his five great-grandchildren; and his several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ken is also survived by his Sister-in-law JoAnnette Feltman (Joe) and his Sister-in-Law Dianne Loftin.
