Psalm 119:105 ESV
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Colossians 3:16 NIV
16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Why the Bible Can Be Trusted

Matthew 24:35 NIV
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

1. The Holy Bible is historically accurate.

Psalm 33:4 NIV
4 For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
1. Eyewitness accounts.
2. Recorded and copied with extreme care.
3. Archeological confirmation.

2. The Holy Bible is scientifically accurate.

Psalm 148:5–6 NLT
5 Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being. 6 He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked.

“51 Incontrovertible Scientific Facts that Prove the Bible is Wrong”

The earth was flat.

Isaiah 40:22 (NIV)
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth.

The earth has to be held up.

Job 26:7 NIV
7 He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.

The number of stars could be counted.

Jeremiah 33:22 (NLT)
22 And as the stars of the sky cannot be counted.

Too much blood made you sick.

Leviticus 17:11 (NLT)
11 for the life of the body is in its blood.
Leviticus 13:4 (NLT)
4 the priest will quarantine the person for seven days.
Psalm 12:6 NIV
6 And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.

2. The Holy Bible is prophetically accurate.

One person fulfilling 8 prophecies is 1 in 1017 (100,000,000,000,000,000)

One person fulfilling 16 prophecies is 1 in 1045

One person fulfilling 48 prophecies is 1 in 10157

2 Peter 1:21 NIV
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 26:56 NLT
56 But this is all happening to fulfill the words of the prophets as recorded in the Scriptures.” At that point, all the disciples deserted him and fled.
Revelation 22:6 NIV
6 The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”

3. The Holy Bible is thematically unified.

The Holy Bible was written over a period of 1600 years in over a dozen countries on three continents by 40 people in three different languages.

Luke 24:27 NIV
27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

4. The Holy Bible is trusted by Jesus.

Matthew 5:18 NIV
18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

If you believe what you like in the Bible, but don’t believe what you don’t like, it’s not the Bible that you trust, but yourself.

5. The Holy Bible has survived all attacks.

The Bible is the most despised, derided, denied, disputed, dissected, debated, outlawed and destroyed book ever.

“Within 100 years the Bible will be forgotten.” ~Voltaire

1 Peter 1:24–25 (NIV)
24. . .the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Will I attack God’s Word or live by it? Will I deconstruct it or defend it?

Will I follow the world or The Word?

6. The Holy Bible has life-changing power.

John 8:31–32 NIV
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Dear God, from this day forward, I will accept the Bible as your flawless Word to me and I will make it the Final Authority for my life, even when I don’t understand it, when it’s not popular, easy, or even when I don’t like it. You are God and I am not. Thank you for loving me enough to speak to me through your Word. I want to LOVE your word, LEARN your word, and LIVE your Word.
