Deaf – Deaf Mute Man in the Decapolis
Theme: Jesus Heals Deafness!
· Mk 7:32–35 describes a healing miracle.
· This miracle was performed by Jesus and was received by a deaf man and involved these objects: ears, fingers, spit, and a tongue.
Who requested the healing?
FRIENDS
· Friends – everyone needs them – like the 4 that lowered the lame man through the roof
· Avoid end time separation – staying at home – sheltering in place when it is not necessary.
God’s Patterns are not Formulas!
Repetition from Mark 8 – but not a formula…
· WHERE: Jesus Led man out –
o Jesus led a Blind Man out of the village near Bethsaida to heal him –
· HOW: Jesus used spit to heal
o this time Jesus spit on His own fingers and THEN touched him
· Why did Jesus sigh?
o My initial thought: people should have developed their faith by now to receive their own healings rather than have to always need a physical touch from God.
o Today – people run to meetings for a “touch”
o I was wrong!
– let the Bible interpret itself!
o How do we do that?
One way is to look up the definition.
· Sighed = G4727 στενάζω [stenazo/sten·ad·zo/] seems to imply “to groan with grief”[1]
· 2 Cor 5:2 – we groan for our heavenly bodies
o Conclusion – Jesus was longing for the day when His stripes heals everyone!
Jesus longs for you to be healed TODAY
o “In His time” = His time is TODAY
o Th Lords’ prayer – Thy Will be done – on EARTH – as it is in HEAVEN
o There is no sickness in heaven – blind, lame, deaf, mute, etc.
There is to be NO sickness on the earth!
· Because there is no sickness in heaven!
· The church is to heal everyone in Jesus’ name!
= great commission
· You don’t have to wait!
Today is YOUR day to receive!
Review:
Jesus can heal anything
Friends can bring the sick to Jesus
Jesus can use different, and even unusual ways, to heal
Faith sometimes must be separated from unbelievers
– Jesus led the man out…
Miracles are instantaneous
Healing is for you
Healing is for today
The church is to eradicate sickness from the earth in Jesus’ Name
· – if each one healed one = 2 billion healings TODAY.
· Let’s have the vision for the evening news to show MIRACLE counters rather than casualty counters and stats emblazoned on millions of TV’s.
