Genesis 4:25–26 NKJV
25 And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” 26 And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.
Genesis 12:8 NKJV
8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.

1. Prayer is communicating to God.

Notice I said communicating to God and not with God. the reason I said communication is a two way street. In order to communicate with God you have to learn to listen.
On the fourth when I taught, I mentioned that we should read meditate and apply the scripture to our lives.
Meditating on the scripture is the main way we here the voice of God.
As we start reading His word and praying thing will start happening that some people would call coincidence, you will be reading a scripture and trying to apply it. then maybe you come in here and here a sermon on the same thing you’ve been struggling with.
maybe you are struggling with a situation and then you hear some mature people talking about the very same issue that you where wrestling with.

Concordance? I think not, it’s not Google its the Holy Spirit.

The most Important thing to learn about prayer is to do it!

2. The A-C-T-S Model.

A- is for Adoration.

Isaiah 12:5 NKJV
5 Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth.
To pray well takes just a few minutes of meditation to do well.

C- is for Confession.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Psalm 32:5 NKJV
5 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
this should not be a hard thing.
we should be aware of our own sin.
Romans 7:15 NKJV
15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.

T- is for Thanksgiving.

Psalm 107:1 NKJV
1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV
17 pray without ceasing,
Remember to be thankful for many things.
I keep daily list to keep my thanksgiving fresh.
I thank God for people.
I can thank God for last night dinner.
I thank God for big things.

S- is for Supplication.

Philippians 4:6 NKJV
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Matthew 6:31–32 NKJV
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
