Waiting For Our Redemption

We have seen the Godliness of Zechariah and Elizabeth

Now we meet Simeon and Anna

Simeon we see is righteous and devout

Anna was a fasting and prayer warrior

who was always at the temple

Last week we saw Jesus becoming one of us so that He could be our Kinsman Redeemer

(1) A near relative or kinsman

(2) One who had the means to bring about the redemption

(3) One who had the desire to accomplish redemption

(4) be willing to risk his riches for another’s gain

Anna recognized the Redeemer as the Baby Jesus

And at that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

Simeon is looking forward to this comforter

Simeon has been promised by the Holy Spirit that he will see

Anna and Simeon were watching and waiting, for the redeemer and they rejoiced when they found Him

Redemption Of Creation

the universe is waiting for its Redeemer

Romans 8 19 it is waiting for the revealing

the ground was cursed, the death sentence was issued

this creation is a giant seven day clock that was wound at creation

and has been unwinding since

everything has a life and death cycle

V 20

all of the universe has been cursed because of Adam

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—

not only man was subjected to this death but the whole universe

the first death occurred in the Garden , when God killed the animals for the clothing of Adam

and Adam and Eve had to wear death as clothing

to remind them of the sacrifice the animals made

and all forms of death followed

and this universe is eagerly waiting and watching for the Redeemer

V 21-22

Creation is suffering and is anticipating the Kinsman redeemer to set free from the slavery of corruption

And

Anna and Simeon were waiting for the redeemer of Israel

and we are looking for the

Redemption Of Our Bodies

V 23

our bodies are corrupted

our live is but a vapor and then it dies

our bodies have the stink of death on them

our bodies remind us every day of the brevity of life

Our bodies are a result of the curse

every generation our genes are more corrupted

V 23 and we groan, eagerly waiting our Redeemer

our Groom who will come and give us a new incorruptible body

Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the corruptible inherit the incorruptible. these mortal bodies

these corrupted bodies

these bodies that will die

are going to be transformed

we will go into the cocoon of the grave and be transformed into butterflies

into a new immortal, incorruptible, perfect body

incapable of sinning, incapable of bad thoughts

incapable of getting sick

Elon Musk and the rest of the trans-humanist community are working on robotics and brain chip implants to try to do what God has promised He will do to those who are His

They are trying with technology to bypass God

they are trying to make themselves immortal

has duped man into thinking that this is possible

the antichrist, the satanic impostor, the false redeemer. will get people to take the mark of the beast, and make man into something that is no longer human. with a promise of immortality

everyone knows they need a redeemer

the question is, who is your redeemer?

Jesus, or Government?

Jesus or Elon Musk?

Jesus or satan?

Satan will lead you to an immortal body

but its a body made by God especially made for the lake of fire

where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.

Jesus is speaking of the horror of hell here

the maggot does not die it will continue to eat your flesh

the fires will not go out

Jesus is giving us a mental picture of what hell is

Jesus wants us to know the place of destruction

Jesus wants us to know where satan and his people will spend eternity

Will you spend eternity there?

who is your redeemer?

What kind of body does your redeemer promise?

Corruptible or incorruptible?

Christian are you looking for your Redeemer?

Paul says that those who are anticipating and looking for this will receive a crown

2 Timothy 4:8 LSB

In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

our groom The Lord Jesus must think it’s pretty special if you are Watching for His coming

if he is going to reward you for doing so

Are you like Anna and Simeon looking for your Redeemer

or are we just groaning in this mortal body
