"Why do we keep making the same mistakes again and again?” This is the weary question that we ask of our broken world. And this is the question that the meek and wise will ask of themselves. The Bible teaches that we persist in disobeying God, make foolish and harmful decisions, and hurt ourselves and those around us, because our hearts are blind to God. The good news is that God in His love and grace has not left us in our blindness. He promised long ago to send his only Son to bring light to our darkened hearts. Jesus proved that he was the promised Saviour, and proved that he had the power to accomplish his mercy mission, when he healed blind Bartimaeus outside the walls of Jericho some two thousand years ago. Today, he heals the sin-broken hearts of anyone and everyone who, like Bartimaeus, will call upon his name: “Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!” Guest Preacher: Campbell Markham
