It is going to be a LONG service with both Lord’s Supper and Elder installation! I remember as a child growing up in the Dee Why Church in Sydney where I used to dread these combinations of events. As I matured in age and faith, I learnt how rich a blessing it was to be involved in such a time of worship. The Lord’s Supper is truly a deeply moving experience when approached in a worshipful way as we focus on the GREAT love of Jesus and His Father for us and what that sacrifice has gained for us. In sync with this remembrance of this deep love of Christ and His sacrifice, we have the installation of two elders. These men are called and appointed to be SERVANT leaders, being as Christ to His people. In our service on Sunday, let us humble ourselves before our God who LOVES us so much, He sent the GREATEST SERVANT OF ALL, Jesus; and now that Jesus has returned to Heaven, the Lord through Christ and the work of the Spirit, has given us SERVANT elders to love and care to the glory of God.
