Intro:
Are you redeemed?
Psalm 107:2(ESV)
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble
For a Christian to be asked this question, a personal testimony may follow about how their sins were forgiven in Jesus and how they follow him today.
For an Israelite.... the answer would have pointed to God’s rescue of the Israelites from Egypt.
The Bible is clear in the OT and the NT that....
Redemption produces Praise and Practice to the Redeemer!
This is the formula that God put in place to draw the nations to himself through Israel, through the church, and through you!
Praise and Practice of the Redeemer!

12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.

Jesus the Redeemer

Luke 9:28–31 (ESV)
28 Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray.
29 And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became dazzling white.
30 And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah,
31 who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
Physically -

Romans 3:23–24 ESV

12 he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Mike Wilkerson
If your story of redemption stops at your healing or your freedom, then you do not yet have God’s vision for redemption.
Colossians 1:19–20 ESV
19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Since we can see the connection between God redeeming Israel and Jesus redeeming sinners, we will also see the direct correlation of response from those that have been redeemed!
If the recipe is followed.... then the desired outcome is made!

Living Redeemed

Redemption Produces Praise and Practice of the Redeemer!
Cup Overflowing - James Sabot - We are called to fill up in the Praise of God, Following God in His Way..... and it would naturally overflow to others around us!

5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; 6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”
Jesus Redeemed Sinners to Praise and Practice
Praise - Hear the echos of Exodus here!
Revelation 5:9–10 ESV
9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
I thought I could have leaped from earth to heaven at one spring when I first saw my sins drowned in the Redeemer's blood. Charles Spurgeon
Practice -
Titus 2:14 ESV
14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
1 Corinthians 7:23 ESV
23 You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men.
1 Peter 2:9–12 ESV
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
P.T. Forsyth The feeble gospel preaches, “God is ready to forgive”; the mighty gospel preaches, “God has redeemed.”
Jesus gave us a perfect example of Praise and Practice - The Lord’s Supper
Body that was broken
Are you redeemed?
If you believe in Jesus as your Savior, then partake and let this be a visual testimony of your redemption
If you have not believed, let this be a visual invitation to believe in Jesus as he says in John 6 to spiritually eat his body and drink his blood in FAITH.... Take him now in faith!
1 Corinthians 11:27–29 ESV
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
1 Corinthians 11:23–24 ESV
23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Blood that was shed -
Romans 5:9–10 ESV
9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
1 Corinthians 11:25–27 (ESV)
25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
