Jesus begins ministering after the sermon on the mount

he shows the world who he really is from the get go- he is God in the flesh

he has power over sickness and disease

he has power over life and death

he has power over all of creation, even the most powerful and mysterious things

he has power over even the spiritual things

those that believe all of this, having faith that it is true are healed despite their circumstances

9 Jesus Heals the Blind and Mute

9 The Workers are Few

Jesus continues working and healing but in this chapter we see a contrast with the new characters added

Pharisees do not like what Jesus is and does

Jesus presents a challenge to the religion they have built that later Jesus will call the doctrines of man and not God

Jesus spends his time with the people who he is not supposed to and he offers life and forgiveness to the people who are supposed to be the example of ungodliness

Jesus meets all of the hopeless where they are and offers them hope anyway

the pharisees label them hopeless and offer nothing to the one incapable of checking the correct boxes

be careful of where you fall in your own walk with God

do not let the doctrines of man cause you to stray from spreading hope and life to those who need it
