Who is God? What do you know about Him?
Trinity-
3 persons, 1 essence
Unbegotten Father
Begotten Son- John 3:16, John 1:1-2
Spirated Spirit
None were created, all are unified in mind, will, and essence
All are completely God

And the catholic faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; Neither confounding the persons nor dividing the substance. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Spirit.

But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one, the glory equal, the majesty coeternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Spirit incomprehensible. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal. And yet they are not three eternals but one eternal. As also there are not three uncreated nor three incomprehensible, but one uncreated and one incomprehensible. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Spirit almighty. And yet they are not three almighties, but one almighty. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God; And yet they are not three Gods, but one God

All have different roles in Salvation
He is uncreated, self-sustaining, all-powerful, eternal, and Holy.
Why does this stuff matter?
One of the clearest differences between the true God of the bible and every other form of deity, aka man made God, is how He relates to us.
Every other religion focuses on God as a judge of human achievement.
They are all some kind of being that is either an arbitrary judge that awaits us at the end of time, or just some mystical force that determines the origin of the universe.
Our God is personal, meaning He has initial relationships with His people.
He is also merciful, because instead of leaving us to solve the issue of righteousness ourselves, He condescended to us, and made a way for us to know and be loved by Him.
Our Triune God in complete agreement saves us from our sin. The we were chosen, redeemed and sanctified by God and will one day be with Him.
Questions:
How does having a greater grasp of the Trinity help your relationship with God?
Why is it important to understand the differences in how God describes Himself and the “gods” of other religions?
