Intro: It was 1911 and the world was in anticipation of a new marvel that was being built. The world was already in a stage of gradual innovation as time kept pressing forward and this was only the latest one. The RMS Titanic was rife with Victorian elegance, complete with carpets, crystal chandeliers, and a total of 840 staterooms, 416 first class rooms, 162 second class, and 262 third class rooms. It was a 900 ton, top of the line, luxury liner, that was about to make history. Everyone talked about it and everyone marveled at the human ingenuity behind it. So much so that one White Star Line employee was prompted to say the following statement, “Not even God Himself could sink this ship.” In 1912, The Titanic sunk as the on board band played, “Nearer my God to Thee.”
Humanities terrible knack to downplay things we don't like or are opposed to. When we don't like, even hate, or are threatened by the existence of something, we deride it, spit upon it, or turn our noses up toward it. We mock it. This is never more true that how the world reacts to the God who created them. As an established fact in all the minds of human beings, God is an ever present reality, whose existence is confirmed in our own conscience. The world knows God exists and that is the precise reason why they speak out against His power, His authority, His love, and His goodness. The world so hates God that they believe that they can mock Him and get away with it. that God will simply be a passive party in the abuses hurled His way and He wont do anything about it.
Human Mockery of God and His authority is something that can be traced to the very beginning of creation, from Cain, to the pre-flood world, the tower of Babel, Pharoah, and so on.
Why People Mock God?
Why People Mock God?
They Think He Doesn't See
They Think He Doesn't See
In our never ending attempt to be God, the world takes away from God the thing try to attribute to themselves in the most dystopian fantasies. trying to be an all seeing eye while thinking to themselves that God cant do that.
in everyday life, the normal everyday person, the most moral of us, the most devout christian, can get into grooves of a mindset that thinks, God cant see me while I’m doing this thing that i know i shouldn't be doing.
we can actually deceive ourselves into believing this

and they say, “The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.”
to limit the attributes of God so as to think He does not have the ability to see you is an arrogant and foolish form of mockery
The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
keeping watch on the evil and the good.

kind of connected to the previous, but more internal than that. The religious hypocrisy is most often acquainted with this form of mockery. where you can appear as outwardly righteous but inside you are filled with dead mans bones.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
Mocking God in this way comes about by thinking that by fooling everyone around you into thinking you're an outstanding person, you somehow can trick God into believing it as well.

1984, Tancredo Neves (Brazil) said “if I get 500,000 votes from my party, not even God would remove me from Presidency.”
this form of mockery can be seen in and out of the church. most prevalent in abortion and pride month.
If God is real, He certainly isn't doing anything about it so He is either not as strong as people say or He doesn't exist. Newer generations have clung to this idea and continue down this spiral of depravity that has created celebrations of such depravity in the streets, wholesale slaughter of the unborn, and an evil mind that says the creation mandate isn't real, so change your children gender at your own whims.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

In Authority
He went up from there to Bethel, and while he was going up on the way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” And he turned around, and when he saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. And two she-bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys.
The most used forms of Mocking His authority can be seen in twisting or denying the Word of God (The Serpent)

Not enjoying Him
“All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you. They shall be a sign and a wonder against you and your offspring forever. Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things,
Not with the heart
“I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the peace offerings of your fattened animals,
I will not look upon them.
Take away from me the noise of your songs;
to the melody of your harps I will not listen.
Not as He is

He Judges
He Judges
God is not so far and removed from our lives and existence, like the deists suggest, that He doesn't act in time to vindicate His name. Those who have dishonored His name, mocked His counsel, broken covenant, and grieved Him in their disobedience

So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Final thoughts: Let us not be convinced that we have a God who doesn't care that we slander His name, mock His counsel, or deride His authority. Part of faith in God is faith in the fact that God will judge those who mock Him. That He is a being who is to be taken seriously and when you do you will be met with a being of unfathomable love, mercy, and understanding even as you sin and repent.
