Intro

Tonight we are going to spend time in prayer and worship and I am going to briefly go over what we are are going to do.
There are 4 stations around the room that you will spend time at. No one is timing you or making sure you hit every station, so take your time and do your best to be at each one with the heart that you are there alone with God.

Stations

Supplication & Intercession

Explanation
When we are in right standing with God, by the power of Jesus death on the cross, and our confession of Him as our Lord, we are made righteous in him. The Bible tells as, that this results in powerful prayer! As you read the scriptures below, consider who God has put in your life, that needs prayer.
Scripture
James 5:16b (NIV)
16 The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Philippians 4:6 NIV
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
1 Timothy 2:1–4 NIV
1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Action
Grab two blank prayer cards. On one write out a prayer for yourselves, and on another write a prayer for someone God has place on your heart. Make them anonymous. Place them in the box and our pastors will pray over them as well

Remembrance & Communion

Explanation
Communion was a sacrament instituted by Jesus right before he was crucified to pay to penalty that our sins deserved. He gathered his followers and said to them "Do this in remembrance of me." Take a moment to read the verses below.
Scripture
1 Corinthians 11:23b–26 NIV
24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
Action
Grab one of the communion cups, and as you eat the bread and drink the juice, actively remember what Jesus did to earn your salvation for you.
Prayer
Use the verse above to guide your prayer as you partake in communion with Jesus.

Confession & Consecration

Explanation
Sin hinders our prayers, and limits our relationship with God.
Take time to read the scripture below, pray, confess sin and consecrate yourself to the LORD.
Scripture
Isaiah 59:2 NIV
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
1 John 1:9 NIV
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Action
Kneel down as you pray at this station, as an act of surrender and consecration.
Pray
Dear Lord, if confess to you right now my sin. Search my heart and reveal anything to me that needs to be laid at your feet today. Strengthen my prayers during this fast as I consecrate myself completely to you.

Adoration & Thanksgiving

Explanation
Adoration is telling God how incredible He is and taking time to worship Him for who He is. Thanksgiving is expressing gratitude for all that he has done for us. Use the verse below to guide your prayer, meditating on each description of God individually.
Scripture
1 Chronicles 29:11–13 NIV
11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. 13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
Action
Take one of the note cards and right out your own statement of adoration and thanksgiving and post it on the wall.

Fasting

Daybreak is doing a week of fasting this week. If you want a deeper dive on fasting and what it can do for you spiritual growth, check out Pastor Jason’s message from this past Sunday and feel free to sit with us any Sunday morning at Daybreak in the front left section during second service.
I am going to briefly touch on the 3 things Pastor Jason talked about that can come as a result of fasting and then give you a challenge for the rest of this week

Renews our dependence on God

Matthew 4:3–4 NIV
3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Resets our spiritual palate

Romans 8:5–6 NIV
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Refocuses our perspective

2 Chronicles 20:2 (NIV)
2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Dead Sea.
2 Chronicles 20:3 NIV
3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.

YA Fast

I want you to all fast one vice and at least one meal each day (preferably your favorite)
When you think to reach for that vice, pray
