2 Timothy 3:1–7 KJV 1900
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Children are born with the Adam nature
They can’t do what is right without the Holy Spirit
They have to understand they are a sinner and need a new nature
Unprecedented disobediences to parents in the end times
situational ethics rule
Moral absolutes are thrown away
We are living in a time when children are taught that what they were born as may not be who they really are and they can transition at school unbeknownst to parents
These types of ideas teach there is no authority
Disobedient = unpersuadable, that is, contumacious: - stubbornly or willfully disobedient to authority.
This is a forecast of an unusual, unprecedented stubbornness towards parents
We are called to lead young people to love the Lord and be spiritually healthy
The church or body of Christ is extremely important in this endeavor
Children need a community of believers to model christlikeness
To model hard work
To model diligence
To model kindness
Learning to obey authorities
Learning to make wise and Godly appeals in meekness and humility
Becoming assertive in their right to make decisions for themselves without parental oversight
Every young person needs daddy's input
Every young person needs mommy’s input
Job12:12-13 12
With the ancient is wisdom; And in length of days understanding.
With him is wisdom and strength, He hath counsel and understanding.
It is allowed that among men there is wisdom and understanding, v. 12. But it is to be found only with some few, with the ancient, and those who are blessed with length of days, who get it by long experience and constant experience; and, when they have got the wisdom, they have lost their strength and are unable to execute the results of their wisdom. But now with God there are both wisdom and strength, wisdom to design the best and strength to accomplish what is designed. He does not get counsel or understanding, as we do, by observation, but he has it essentially and eternally in himself, v. 13. What is the wisdom of ancient men compared with the wisdom of the ancient of days! It is but little that we know, and less that we can do; but God can do every thing, and no thought can be withheld from him. Happy are those who have this God for their God, for they have infinite wisdom and strength engaged for them.

Isaiah 3:1–5 (KJV 1900)
1 For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, Doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, The whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
2 The mighty man, and the man of war, The judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3 The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, And the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
4 And I will give children to be their princes, And babes shall rule over them.
5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: The child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, And the base against the honourable.
Children must be trained to respect the older
Training children to be concerned for those that are older
Parents will not lead
Parents will not discipline
We are living in a society driven by liberal education and progressivism
Well my children don’t go to the public school
Their phone will teach them
Their movies will teach them
Their cartoons will teach them
Disobedience to parents is a kin the spirit of pride that we spoke about last week in relation to Lucifer
Disobedient children will receive empowerment from the world’s institutions
Parents have divine authority in the lives of their children
Parents have a God given duty “to train up in the way” their children
Pro 22:6 Train up (To narrow) a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Parents have a responsibility to exercise Biblical instruction and discipline.
Leading children to be in The Word
Training them in the importance of The Word
“Well I’m just going to let them find it for themselves” No they will have to do that later now is the time to train them
Disobedient to parents “my parents have no right to tell me what to do”
Are you offering a spiritual heritage for them to embrace?
Children need training
need guidance
Children crave for loving consistency when it comes to teaching and guidance
My children know we will always be in church
My children know we will always read and copy the Bible everyday
My children know we will pray before meal times
My children know we will pray before bedtime
My children know we will share our faith with others
Why wouldn’t we check up
I am a voice - if the doors are open and you are physically able you should be in church
Sunday School
The Holy Spirit has forecasted - and He’s never been wrong - there will be a problematic home structure = disobedience to parents
Instead of hiding, cowering
This is a great hour to shine brightly
Remain Unchangeable
The Bible is not antiquated or outdated
It applies
It is relevant
It is applicable
When you start changing to be like the world you will want to change the Word
2. Be Not Deceived
The spirit of rebellion and disobedience can deceive
Be vigilant
Have you allowed worldly practices to creep into your home?
Music
Modesty
Movies
Mannerisms
Conversations that are against authority
Training children
3. Remain Clean
There is a spirit of this age that will contaminate the child of God
a. When we consume media that wouldn’t please the Lord
b. When we are apathetic about the media our family consumes
giving a device to a child without training them
any device that connects to the internet is capable of connected to the filthiness of Hell
c. When we are becoming more like the world.
1 Peter 1:14 KJV 1900
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
d. When we are comfortable around corrupt communication
no music, no videos, that have cursing
e. When we are not grieve by things that grieve God
Do our children have a spiritual awareness
2 Peter 2:7–10 KJV 1900
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
The spirit of disobedience is growing
Do we talk about walking in the spirit
Do we discuss character
Eph 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
