SUBJECT: WE IN A WAR: SPIRITUAL WARFARE
SUBJECT: WE IN A WAR: SPIRITUAL WARFARE
INTRO: THOSE ISSUE BATTLES: ALL OF US, NO MATTER HOW SAVED OR SANCTIFIED OR TERRIBLE WE ARE, HAVE THOSE HARD TO CONTROL ISSUES WHERE WE FIND OURSELVES CONSTANTLY AT WAR WITH OURSELVES, WRESTLING AND BATTLING WITH OURSELVES TO NO AVAIL.

2 Cor 10:1-5 10 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: 2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of STRONG HOLDS; (Heb 12:1) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and THE SIN (OR STRONGHOLD) THAT SO EASILY BESET US, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. STRONG HOLDS ARE THOSE THINGS THAT OVERWHELM US. THOSE THINGS THAT WE ARE ADDICTED TO. THOSE THINGS THAT WE REALIZE AND KNOW ARE WRONG YET WE INDULGE ANYHOW WITH PLEASURE. STRONG HOLDS ARE THOSE THINGS THAT WE FEEL GUILTY ABOUT, AND SAY WE WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN BUT WE ARE CONSTANTLY BEING REMINDED ABOUT HOW MUCH WE ARE MISSING IT. STRONG HOLDS ARE WHAT PAUL WAS ALLUDING TO IN THE SEVENTH CHAPTER OF ROMANS (TALK!!!!!!!) 5.casting down IMAGINATIONS, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; STRONG HOLDS are those things that after you can’t seem to overcome, you will attempt to justify by trying to convince yourself that you have GOD’S approval. 1. GOD knows my heart. (TALK) 2. Why would God allow me to be born this way. TRYING TO EXALT YOUR STRONG HOLD AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. GOD’S CONVICTION WILL NOT AND CANNOT BE ALTERED OR MANIPULATED BY OUR ADDICTION.

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
