Let The Good Be Your Portion Always!

The definition of Unnecessary Roughness (football term) is A conduct- or safety-related infraction such as hitting a ball carrier after he is already out of bounds, "piling on" a ball carrier who is already down, or violent contact with an opponent who is away from and out of the play.
Whatever God Has Said - Do It! Jeremiah 1:12 “12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
If the enemy can sway you into believing in the flesh, you will continue to be penalize for “unnecessary roughness!”
We say it often, “His Word Never Fails,” but yet we allow our hearts and minds to be darkened by the irrelevant things of this world!
Is it strange or concerning that we as believers must endure trials and tribulations?
We know that Jesus Christ told us that we will have to endure these things, but He also gave us instructions to not become weary, for He has overcome the world. . .
Why am I weary?
If I am experiencing a moment of weakness, but I am not remaining there, I know that my ear is attending to The Holy Spirit, Who brought back to my remembrance, the Promises of God!
But if I am extending my stay in that moment of weakness, then I am listening to the flesh, because the Bible declares in Matthew 26:41 “41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.””
What am I watching the most?
You know, we will say this often, “No weapon formed, will prosper. . .” but then we are afraid to declare our plans that God has given us, because we are concerned that others may thwart what God has ordained for us to do!
“Unnecessary Roughness” on your part, why do I pile on stuff, thoughts, that God has not ordained for me to handle? James 1:1-8
James 1:1–8 NKJV
1 James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
I have added unnecessary pressures to myself because when I focus on the natural, more than, I become weary and anxious, which then makes me feel depressed and defeated!
Then fear will trickle in, and causes you to move outside of the Will of God, making rash decisions, which further sets you back from reaching the destiny God prepared for you!
So, if we know that fear is torment, wouldn’t that be considered ‘unnecessary roughness?” I piled that on myself, taking on stuff that is determined to remove my focus from The Promised Word of God!
I need to check who I am listening to the most, the flesh, or The Holy Spirit?
And don’t get it twisted, sometimes we will try to intertwine the flesh with The Holy Spirit, so that we can justify our decisions
We say things like this; “God knows my heart. . .” yet, we know this, but will continue in the thing that we know God has not instructed, nor called us to do. . .
God knows your thoughts before you even think them, and yet we allow our own thinking to convince us that we can fool God by saying; “God knows my heart. . .” that does not give you any reprieve from your choices if you are not doing what HE said!
Moses told the people in Deuteronomy 1:1-8
Deuteronomy 1:1–8 NKJV
1 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab. 2 It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea. 3 Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the Lord had given him as commandments to them, 4 after he had killed Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei. 5 On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying, 6 “The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain. 7 Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates. 8 See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.’
If you are not careful, you will be wandering in the wilderness for longer than God had ordained for you to be, all because you added “unnecessary roughness” to your life due to leaning to your own understanding!
Stop trying to please man (self) and seek to pleasing God always - I know the pains of life tend to be excruciating and frustrating at times, but He already told us that this life will cost you something!
As long as you seek God first in all that you do, the rest will be set in order because of your faithfulness in His Word! Nahum 1:7 “7 The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.”
“Let The Good, Be Your Portion, Always. . .” God has done so many wonderful things, they cannot even be numbered! Even the Bible says “There were many miracles that Jesus did, which cannot be contained in these books. . .” Therefore, 2 Peter 1: 1-10
2 Peter 1:1–10 NKJV
1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
Am I adding “Unnecessary Roughness?” Am I out of bounds and still piling on? Romans 5:1-10
Romans 5:1–10 NKJV
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Through Jesus The Christ - I have The Power to only allow the necessities of God, be my portion! Jesus Rose - He gave us The Power (The Promise Of The Holy Spirit) Who comforts us, keeps us, reminds us, teaches us, guides us into all truths!
No need for me to add any “Unnecessary Roughness” when God has given me “All Things” pertaining to me knowing who I am in Him!
Therefore, I settle myself in The Peace of God, and keep my mind on those things that gives me strength, when the unnecessary roughness attempts to jump on me, especially when I am down, done called a timeout, trying to remain focus on the next play, I may not have gotten in the end zone on this play, but I got a first down! A new set of downs - which keeps the drive going!
I cannot be distracted by the “Unnecessary Roughness” someone says, how can I not see what just happened to me, well you have the Power to focus on the flesh, or The Holy Spirit!
Philippians 4:8 NKJV
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
