Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.”
Focus on “uphold me with a willing spirit
It is the Holy Spirit that will uphold us
We have been given access to the power of God, through his Holy Spirit

*story of preparing for an important exam…*
You study the content, get plenty of sleep, eat healthy, and free your mind of unimportant matters
Much like the story of Isreal...
We pick up in the Old Testament, the Israelites are on the run from Egypt and find themselves boxed in. On one side, the mighty military of Egypt, no doubt a formidable force. On the other side, a large body of water known as the Red Sea.
Agreement between God and Isreal
Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
This is the guide given to the nation of Isreal, “you keep up your end of the deal, I’ll keep up my end of the deal”
There are over 600 laws and regulations within the jewish law… We have a hard enough time trying to stay under the speed limit …
The terrible truth is that there has not yet been a person who is able to maintain the agreement with God… We’re all broken and in need of help.
God send Jesus to make a new agreement, so when you step into your calling, he has taken the weight of performance off your shoulders and placed it on that cross 2000 years ago.
Joshua 3:5
“Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.””
sanctification
To be set apart
To chose to live a holy life
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to continually guide you and push you to be more like Christ. To remind you of the grace that has been given to you at the cost of the life of a perfect person, Christ.
