3 Foundations for life-Proverbs 1:10-19. The 1st thing needed is the fear of God. How do you get the fear of God? It has to be taught (Word of God). The heart is the problem. You can spend a whole life dealing with whats and avoiding the whys. A child acts up and you can ground him. The why needs to be dealt with somewhere down the line. A man can brag about sleeping with 20 women. That's not a man. That's a man sucking his thumb trying to prove he's a man. Prov.4:8 says "exalt her and she will promote you",speaking of wisdom. "She will bring you honor, when you embrace her." Wisdom will get you the things you are chasing. Look at Prov.3:13-"Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding". Verses 13 thru 17 tell us He will make us happy. God says start w/fearing me and I will get you what you need. Concerning Eli, his sons wouldn't listen to him. Why? Because Eli wouldn't listen to God. He was reaping what he had sown. 3 times God had tried to speak to Samuel. When he finally acknowledged God, God talked to him. How many times has God had something for us and we finally give up. Then he gives us Something He has been trying to give us for a long time. He says I'm glad you finally shut up so I could bless you. The 2nd foundation is learn how to listen. God is trying to make our life easier. We can't live our life in the past. We can't use what happened to us in the past, because God is a God of Now, not the past. Jethro told Moses what you do is not good. The 3d foundation is (man cometh). Prov.1:10-14-The devil cometh, in the form of magazines,movies, and many other forms.Man comes. If your heart is empty, the devil knows how to lure you.
