Robert, why worry?
Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I read an interesting article discussing how the current crisis is spawning worry and anxiety syndrome amongst many people. An emotional environment is sweeping the land. The effects may be subtle, but they're serious. Do we want to contribute to this? Now think back... 20, 10, 2 years ago, even last year at this time. What was it then that was shaking your tree? What was the threat producing visceral anxiety, heart racing, stomach cramps, overeating, irritability? Can you remember? Think hard....How was it resolved? But this is different; this is unprecedented... Well, so was that trial last year, and the one before. If you think about it really, all of life is unprecedented. But after it happens, we come through, and even often forget the circumstances and threats which seemed so overwhelming at the time. Perhaps it's the grace of God...But what was important 20 years ago...10 years ago? What was essential, crucial, and of truly lasting significance? It's what was prayed, thought, said or done with God as the source and object... exactly as it is, or should be, today in this fear-ridden atmosphere!Robert, Yeshua (Jesus) made it simple. Live now, conscious of your fears and anxieties, without adding your speculations on the future. The hard fact is that you don't know the future and will mostly get it wrong, giving yourself a headache you don't need in addition to the present conundrum. And, you will cripple your ability to walk in communion with the Lord to do the works He has prepared for you. That's a sad waste. Instead, practice casting your cares upon Him because He cares for you. He will give you the peace that passes understanding [Philippians 4:5-7], prevent you from adding to the negative atmosphere, and bear His fruit through your life.

John 5:25 (ESV) — 25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
Here Is our focal point which is who Christ is. While the pharisees continued to question and seek for ways destroy Jesus. And I believe the only thing that was keeping them from doing it was that Jesus had a following. When Jesus lost the following then the Pharisees made there move to have Jesus arrested.
Until then the Pharisees would continue in their attempt to discredit Jesus even public ally to turn the hearts against Jesus that the hearts would not be against they themselves.
The hour is coming and now is here
This is an already but not yet statement. The truth is so pervasive that we can not live in the kingdom reality. Yes it is come but not yet. We can live in the light of eternity now, we receive our life in the eternal now in the light of the assurance of its existence in Christ. A future expectation in a present reality.
The Media which is piped in through TV Radio and internet anchors our thinking to the present conditions of this world. And you can tell by the conversations that you have with people even evangelicals that what is filling their hearts is what they have heard from the resources.
What is the reality in your heart? What the news is piping into your ear and eye gate or is it the truth of God’s word?
when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
Whose the dead.
First it is those who are without Christ without hope and without eternal life.
It is those who are Christ for in Christ all die. There is no hope. And we live among a world of the dead.
I look at my life prior to my salvation and life was connected with times and circumstances related to this current life with no thought beyond. All of that was but a vapor gone and vanished except for the memories.
Having heard the gospel and responding to it and believing in Christ life began to take on a new dimension. As the word of Christ began to be received the spirit that bears witness and teaches all things a new life is being lived.
4:23 an hour is coming—and now is here A unique expression in the Gospel of John that conveys both future expectation and present reality. Jesus’ work in the present inaugurates a new phase in redemptive history. Jesus’ phrasing also echoes the language of the ot prophets (Jer 31:31; 2 Kgs 20:17).
Already but not yet. Life for the believer in Christ is to live in the light of eternity.
Akouo Hear understand Acknowledge receive and accept within the heart. So often we hear that God would not cast his creatures into the Lake of fire. Well God is not only loving he is a just God and is bound by his own integrity and if God allows those who are wicked despite there rejection of the truth to enter into the kingdom, then he is not a Just God.
It is not about Love in this case it is a judicial crime and punishment. and while we are guilty God has provided a means but which we may enter his salvation without compromising his perfect integrity.
There has to be some acknowledgement on our part as our eyes are opened by the spirit of God being brought to a place where we see clearly the implications of the cross and choose for the plan of God for life or to reject God’s plan and remain in the darkness.
Those that receive, understand and acknowledge the truth that Jesus Christ provides eternal life for all who trust in him for it will live. That is they have life unto the age. Living is regeneration where the spirit which was once dead in Christ is now made alive. Live means be put back into a harmonious relationship with the person of the Lord no longer separated from a relationship with Him. Live means to have a personal sense of destiny that there is a future within the kingdom of God. To live means useful service while in the body. Live means the opportunity to glorify God in the body. To live means to be blessing to those around us.
What is life if it is not what God had intended out lives to be?
John 5:26–29 (ESV) — 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
The reality is that there an existence beyond the boundaries of this life.
For the unbeliever the best case scenario is that we die and we go to the grave and that is that. Some even commit suicide to put an end to it all only to come into the next plain of existence. I can’t imagine waking up to the truth after I left this world to realize the truth when it is too late. To stand before the Lord whom I have discounted for all my previous life and now face the terrible reality that having my soul intact with a new body will have to face the reality of Hell for eternity.
The Hope which is the confident expectation of a life beyond this current existence have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for life unto the age to be a part of the life of God in harmony with Him. To live in and be a part of God’s wonderful kingdom. No not playing harps for eternity but enjoying God forever in a resurrected body free from the struggle of sin and the evils of this world. To live in the resurrected body in a place of no more sorrow no more tears old things have been done away with forever.
I was asked
What if you are wrong?
No problem, Mr. Professor. If I am wrong then I was stupid enough to hold to the joy of that which was only a myth before I die and go into non existence.
But what if you are wrong Mr. professor. That is going to be a wrong that will cost you for all eternity.
We all will receive a resurrected body where our souls will be housed. Where we spend eternity will be dependent upon the decision we make in this life for the Son.
John 5:23 (ESV) — 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
John 5:30 (ESV) — 30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
Jesus is an impartial Judge. He does not take a bride. He does not go on sentiment or feelings. He does not take matters into His own hands but Judges in accordance to truth and justice and righteousness. In the Lord’s court the matter will be settled on the fact of whether one his guilty or not guilty. There will be no persuading the judge in regard to what those who stand before him think that they can get away with.
Isaiah 11:1–5 (ESV) — 1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. 2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. 3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear, 4 but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
Jesus is Lord he is as God an Elohim and he will not be like all the other Elohim who judges injustly Psalm 82
Psalm 82:1–8 (ESV) — 1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. 6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; 7 nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.” 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations!
John 5:31–32 (ESV) — 31 If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true. 32 There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true.
Who is this other witness?
That would be the witness of the Father
John 5:37 (ESV) — 37 And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen,
5:37 Father who sent me Compare John 3:2. All the miracles and teaching Jesus has done (His “works”) are also part of the Father’s witness since God the Father guided and empowered all of that activity. The Father’s witness also includes the revelation through Scripture (vv. 45–47).
It is the profits of old that was sent. It is the power that God worked through the son. And it will be the spirit that Jesus has sent.
One cannot use as an excuse that there were no witness for God does not want any to perish but gives witness.
Hebrews 1:1–2 (ESV) — 1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
