The family is now living in Nazareth
make the annual trip to Jerusalem

after the fast they would caravan home
women and children in the front setting the pace
men in the rear
12 year old boys could be anywhere

they found Jesus in the temple

V 47 the teachers were astounded
V 40 Jesus was given grace and wisdom from on high
grace is given to those who are humble
grace is given to those who ask for it by faith
Jesus has been studying the scriptures
The old testament the Law
Realizing the old Testament is a shadow and prophecy of the New Covenant
And down there for the Passover, watching Joseph put his hand on the head of the lamb the the priest sacrifices
I wonder if Jesus at this time of 12 years old knows that he is the sacrificial Lamb?
SOO Jesus is missing from the caravan
Mary and Joseph head back to Jerusalem the next morning
get there in the eve start looking for the boy on the third morning
finally found Him that eve at the temple

Your father and I were worried,
the decade that followed the miraculous birth has dulled the realization of who their son was

But Jesus knows differently
no one at that time would so such a thing
Jesus calls Himself the God the Son
even at the age of 12 He knows who He is
and the teachers of Jerusalem know there is something special about Him

Who are you?
someone who grew up always being called a looser would bring that trait with them into adulthood
When we become a christian we are given a new Identity
We are Chosen
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.”
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love, by predestining us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
We are Adopted
For as many as are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons by whom we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, also heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
We become a Child of God
See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we would be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not been manifested as yet what we will be. We know that when He is manifested, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
Heirs with Jesus
to obtain an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, having been kept in heaven for you,
it’s all a matter of perception — how do you see your self
your behavior/ attitude will be determined by who you see your self as
we are to become the person God has made us
we are not self identifying ourselves
but we are displaying who God made us into
and to put on the new man, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

About My Fathers Business
after a night of prayer Jesus chose His disciples
in the garden He was praying to the Father
often Jesus went to the secluded places to pray
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.
“But the witness I have is greater than the witness of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness about Me, that the Father has sent Me.
God gave Jesus a work to do
and He has given each Christian his or her own work
our God given purpose
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
we are His workmanship
His poem, His statue, His masterpiece
He Chose us, He created us, He redeemed us
He made us whole/ Holy
He separated us to Himself
He made a masterpiece, one of a kind,
You were made by God For God
He made us into the person to do something special
God appointed Good works
Does your life reflect a person who is created, owned, and given purpose?

We see Jesus doing Good Works
“You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Jesus now works His works through you
You are his hands , feet, Mouth, and ears
God the Father formed you into the person Jesus uses to do the works that He wants done
through the Holy Spirit in you to have the desire and the will to do these works
And He said to them, “Why is it that you were searching for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”
Jesus knew his purpose and it came from the Father
Jesus knew that He had to be about His Fathers Business
Jesus knew who His real Father was and who He was
Who Are You?

are you what your history says that you are?
a looser, deadbeat, wont amount to anything
and you see life through those lenses
The lens of child abuse
the lens of an alcoholic parent
the lens of dyslexia
the lens of an unhealthy body
the lens of a broken home
the lens of never being sure of your self...
or are you a God created Masterpiece
one who is chosen before the foundation of the world
To be the bride of Christ
to be bought from the slave market of sin and death
to be redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus
to continue the work that Jesus started on this planet
to be given grace to accomplish the work of Jesus
Who are you?
that decision is yours
