COMMITTED TO WHAT YOU CONFESS
Num. 13:17-20,21,23 Mark 11:22-23 2 Tim 1:6-7
Intro: today want to teach from the thought, ‘The power of confession’ you are committed to what you confess, want to show you how to maximize your potential by the words of your mouth.
We will be teaching on the power of the tongue, when we speak we are in essence planting a seed & your seed is the only influence you have over your future. Your seed is also a photograph of your faith. Seed faith is sowing what you have been given to create what you have been promised!
2 Peter 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
TEXT: Numbers 17:23…..28 (they rehearsed failure; the people be strong, the cities are walled, & the children of Anak are there..(a family of giants)…what you see, determines what you desire!!)
What they saw cancelled what they knew,must overcome the grasshopper complex. We have God’s promises, provisions and presence.
Numbers 32:9 For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.
They planted seeds of doubt, discouragement, which hindered, restrained, frustrated the entire body…
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
1 Timothy 1:6,7 Spirit of fear=caused by weak character, it’s the power by which humans feels, decides, the soul=mind will imagination emotions.
What it is not:
The Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of truth, spirit of Christ…This Spirit offers encouragement, links power,ability to make things happen.
Spirit of power and of love. (Power exercised without love is deceitful)
Timothy: The threat of roman persecution was escalating, under Nero,the hostility of those in the church toward truth, false teachers systems of deception…
“Stir up the gift” Inflame your mind with the word of God..
