Being with One Who is Perfect
(Obadiah 19-21)
GOD is your God and Will Be the Center of Your Worldview (Obad. 1-4)

God is your God and will not be mocked. (Obad. 5-8)
God’s retribution is unmistakable (Obad. 5)

Remember, “Will be” means:

“The dominant position of Yahweh is reinforced by the structure of the prophecy, since His name brackets the book in v. 1+21. Edom, or Esau, the recipient of God’s judgment, serves the same structural function.” 1

In its final form, Obadiah is thus a unity, declaring God’s punishment upon wrongdoers and his promises to his people.
