Salvation is instant, and is completed work immediately. As soon as we accept this cure for our imminent death, we are perfectly and utterly restored to Him. Sanctification is not completed as long as we remain in our physical bodies. Holiness, that is, the progression toward being like God, is a messy, halting and unending journey for those whose hearts are set on Him.
