How should we approach this New Year?

Well, I understand that this year may have been challenging and tough, even heart breaking...

I want to submit to you that it’s time to change your view, your perspective, your approach...

Faith is a major key for any believer...

Look at Romans 1:17; Gal 3:11-The righteous live by faith…

We live by faith in God...

What is faith?

Faith Definition: Total belief in God to the point of acting on His Word

So, the first question is why faith. What good is faith in my life-

Our faith is to be used to receive what God has for us-His promises that we see in the Word of God are true and for you who believe...

Life should be lived in an attitude of faith. Understand that you are not your source, you are not your authority, you are not your own power for living. Everything that is good comes from the Father, through Jesus.

When we talk about faith, what are we really talking about?

Hebrews 11:1-being sure and certain…

Hebrews 11:6-Without faith, it is impossible to please God

Must believe He exists-Must know that He rewards them who earnestly seek Him.

What are you believing God for in the New Year?

A Better job situation, better health, lose weight, be more spiritual, read your Bible more, pray more, witness more, do better in school, be a better person, a better father, a better mother, a better friend, son or daughter, save more money, give more money to others, learn a new skill, go back to school, a better marriage, more love in your family, relatives to be saved, etc.

Some things to remember in your struggles this New Year-

1. God is not condemning you-Romans 8:1-2-so you hadn’t succeeded yet in that thing...you may have been in sin in a certain part of your life-even a struggle to get out from under that thing...

2. God is working out all things for your good if you love God and are called according to His purpose-Romans 8:28-remember God is trying to do something great in you-Romans 8:29

3. God is for you and not against you-Romans 8:31-32-it is not God you are fighting against (Eph 6:12)

4. God has made you more than conquerors in Christ-in all things-Romans 8:35-39-Believe that you will walk in victory this coming year.

Say this with me:

God loves me, He is not against me, He is actually for me, He has made me more than a conqueror in Christ even though some things may hit my life that is not always pleasant...

God will never leave nor forsake me...I will win this New Year as I place my faith in my God who loves me and is for me who has made me more than a conqueror...

See, when you believe God is for you and not against you, it makes it easier for you to trust Him, to place your faith in Him even when you go through tough, lean, and challenging times...

Don’t give up-let God work it out for you-He’s working out all things for your good (the good and bad) things

Don’t give up-let God show you how much He loves you-He will fulfill what He has promised to you

Get your faith out again, dust it off and believe that God is for you in 2019...

So set your plans and goals again in the Lord-Acknowledge Him and allow Him to make your paths straight...

Forgive yourself and move into the New Year knowing that God is for you and His power and grace are behind you, sustaining you toward the victorious life...
