Intro: Will You Risk It?
Main Point: God brings salvation at just the right time in just the right way.
1. God’s Salvation Comes through timely risk.
Read Esther 4:13-17.
How is it possible that God’s plan is the best thing for us if it requires taking risks?
Why do you think Mordecai’s words helped Esther overcome fear?
God gave Esther favor with the king in response to her risk. What does this part of the story teach us about God?
2. God’s salvation comes through timely action.
Read Esther 8:1-8.
Esther’s risk was just the beginning of the amazing work God had for her to do. What does that teach about God’s plan for our lives?
Why might God want to involve us in His plans to rescue people?
3. God’s salvation comes through timely victory.
Read Esther 9:1-2.
Why is it hard for us to understand the timing of God’s plans?
Why is it important that we trust God’s timing?
What are some ways God can use your life to reveal His power and glory to the world?
Christ Connection:
If the decree to destroy the Jews had succeeded, Abraham’s descendents would not bring forth God’s promised Messiah. But Esther risked dying to save her people, and God used her actions to bring salvation to the Jews. God brought salvation from sin and death through Jesus Christ because He died for us.
Head: Why is it important for us to understand that we need God in order to complete His plan for our lives?
Heart: What do our hearts tell us about whose glory we’re living for?
Hands: What can you do where you are right now for God’s glory?
