Introduction
We’re still seeking to prove all things.
But as he was discussing righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix became frightened and said, “Go away for the present, and when I find time I will summon you.”
We need to be willing to examine where our life is going.
We secure so many things in this life [N.I.S., Pension, children’s education etc.]
Have we secured our life in God?
Have we secured our life in God?
What have we done regarding our relationship with God?
For some. . .they are like Felix, “come back at a more convenient time”
Convenience - when you want, a suitable time [one that fits my liking]
Death is Sure

Heb. 9:27 “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,”
1 Cor 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.”
Luke 12:20 ““But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’”
James 4:14 “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.”
Or should God check you at a more convenient time?
Life is unpredictable
Life is unpredictable
The unpredictability of life ensures that things don’t always stay the same.
Sickness vs. health
Riches vs. poverty
Happiness vs. depression
Stability vs. brokenness
The Preacher said:
Wisdom = futility Eccl 1:17 “And I set my mind to know wisdom and to know madness and folly; I realized that this also is striving after wind.”
Pleasure = futility Eccl 2:1 “I said to myself, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure. So enjoy yourself.” And behold, it too was futility.”
Labour = futility Eccl 2:18-19 “Thus I hated all the fruit of my labor for which I had labored under the sun, for I must leave it to the man who will come after me. And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have control over all the fruit of my labor for which I have labored by acting wisely under the sun. This too is vanity.”
Wealth = futility Eccl 5:10 “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its income. This too is vanity.”
What then, should I focus on? Eccl. 12:13 “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.”
Or should God check you at a more convenient time?
The threat of the real enemy
The threat of the real enemy
1 Pet 5:8 “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Eph 6:11 “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”
The devil try many ways to get you
Don’t think you can be neutral
