Matthew 13:53–58 NIV84
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. 55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor.” 58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

1. Healing demands Miracle Faith

The blind receive sight
Mk 10:51-52 “51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”
A woman with an issue of blood has miracle faith
Mk 5:34 “34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.””
The woman had to fight through the crowd
There will be times when you have to navigate through the crowd to get your miracle
When you are in need of healing the only healer is Jehovah-Rapha
God is our healer—Jehovah Rapha
People will keep hurting you but Jesus will heal you
Miracle faith heals you

2. Deliverance demands Miracle Faith

Unbelief will keep you from miracles
The disciples couldn’t cast a demon out—apparently because of unbelief
Mk 9:21-25 “21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” 23 “ ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.””
You don’t have time to question whether God is able or not—you must believe
The boy’s father believed Jesus and in Jesus
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever

3. Persistence leads to Miracle Faith

Persistence: Firm or determined in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition
Winners never quit and quitters never win
Opposition does not mean rejection
Delay is not denial
Jer 29:11 “11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
If you are not living the good plan that God has for you—be persistent is pursuing the promise
Don’t quit just because it is difficult
Heb 11:32-40 “32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison. 37 They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.
Yet faith bring miracles
Hab 3:17-18 “17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”

4. Miracle Faith honors the anointing

Don’t let your faith be distracted by the messenger
Don’t let the family legacy or history keep you from your miracle
Many saw the carpenter’s son—they didn’t see the Son of GodA prophet is without honor in his barrio
Miracle faith requires honoring the anointing
Miracle faith demands that you stop looking at the family relation and see the anointing
Don’t let offense keep you from your miracle
You will see a person’s humanity but God will use the foolish things to confound the wise
People will reject the message and will not see miracles
