Do Not Grieve the Holy Spirit

January 29, 2023

Ephesians 4:22-24

• Put off your former conduct – the old man is dead.

• Be renewed in the spirit (attitude) of your mind.

• Put on the new man (the new creation) because that’s who you really are!

Holy Spirit works in us and through us!

Ephesians 4:25-32 ~ Do Not Grieve the Spirit

• Do not grieve the One who was sent to help us.

• Grieve is Strong’s Concordance G3076 ‘lupeo’ which means to distress; to be sad; to cause grief; to be in heaviness; to be sorrowful.

• Put away lying.

• Speak the truth.

• We are members of one another.

• Righteous anger is directed at evil, not people.

• We are not to be passive toward evil ~ we are to hate it.

• Don’t give place to the enemy ~ we are to resist him.

• Do not steal, but work with your hands and give to those in need.

• Do not let evil come out of your mouth ~ but speak only what edifies & encourages others.

• We bring sadness to God’s Holy Spirit by the way we live. (ungodly lifestyle)

• Put away from you, all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor & evil speaking ~ with all malice.

Ephesians 4:32 ~ this is who we are:

‘Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.’

We encourage you this week to meditate on the new creation that you are! Ask Holy Spirit to show you who you truly are now! Ask Holy Spirit to help you live a godly lifestyle!

We have set up on-line giving through Zelle, Venmo and Paypal. These on-line accounts were set up with our email address: charislifechurch@outlook.com
