FOCUS (the core of the content to be communicated)
“One of the greatest tragedies that can ever happen in the life of any person, let alone church, is when thoughts of God & His Kingdom & the need to reach the lost bring a yawn rather than gasp.”
That’s not verbatim, but it’s something I either read or heard in my early days as a Christ follower.
(The gasp is one of awe & understanding.)
This morning’s message is about confidence, not just any old confidence in any old person or thing, but about confidence in God that is very much tethered to one’s relationship with Him.
Here in Daniel chapter 2 we’ll see Daniel, along with his three friends, expressing & exhibiting their confidence in God.
It’s miraculous how God shows up.
There’s no doubt His showing up is directly related to them showing up in continuing to grow in their relationship with Him.
Today we’ll see that when our confidence in God is strong, so is our impact for Him.
And because impacting the world in & through Him is so important, let’s do this!
A life of confidence …
1
1. grows & is strengthened in situations that call for it.
Every situation that is beyond us is & never will be beyond God.
- Daniel 2:1-13
2. is the overflow of an intimate & impassioned relationship with God.
God was first & foremost / front & center in Daniel’s mind & heart.
- Daniel 2:14-23
Making It Real
1] Do you see how confidence grows in the context of adversity & challenge?
2] Is your relationship with God intimate & impassioned?
How can you increase both?
Action Step
Ask God to do whatever it takes to help grow your confidence in Him
(Pro tip: it requires a preexisting intimacy with & passion for Him.)
