Knowing the future foretold by Scripture ought to make us holy people. That is, it ought to make a difference in the present, too! One aspect of our sin nature that continues to be a temptation to us is that of excessive anger. The Apostle Paul wrote to believers to give place in their wrath. We are not to usurp God's role as Avenger. Instead, the Lord calls us to forgive, as He has forgiven us. And we can be grateful for that!
