Grace and Truth
The Testimony of John the Baptist Concerning Himself

John testifies concerning Christ, John 1:29

John 1:29 NKJV
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
John is mentally controlled by the Holy Spirit to testify concerning Who Jesus is, Luke 1:15
Luke 1:15 (NKJV)
For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled (πλησθήσεται) with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
Christ is placed as a propitiation of the the previous sins committed, Romans 3:23
Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
for all sinned and fall short of the God proper opinion,
His propitiatory work is for the sins of all, 1 John 2:2
1 John 2:2 NKJV
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
The Lord will lay on Him the perversity of us all, Isaiah 53:6
Isaiah 53:6 NKJV
All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

This is the One John Spoke of, John 1:30

John 1:30 NKJV
This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’
He was before me - in the beginning was the Word, John 1:1
John 1:1 NKJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, John 1:14
John 1:14 NKJV
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
The Second Person of the Godhead wrapped Himself in flesh, Philippians 2:6-10
Philippians 2:6–10 NKJV
who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
This does not make God a man, for God is not man, Numbers 23:19
Numbers 23:19 NKJV
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
This does not divide God up into different beings, for God is One, Deuteronomy 6:4
Deuteronomy 6:4 NKJV
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
He did not make Himself a man, but wrapped Himself in flesh and came as a man so that in all things He could partake, Hebrews 2:17-18
Hebrews 2:17–18 NKJV
Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Yet, Christ is fully human, John 1:14
John 1:14 NKJV
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Without being human He could not make a sacrifice for humans
His humanity does not add or take away anything from His Deity
The Three Persons of the Godhead in the Old Testament
The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19:24
Genesis 19:24 (NKJV)
Then the Lord (וַֽיהוָ֗ה) rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord (יְהוָ֖ה) out of the heavens.
The Spirit of the Lord, Psalm 51:11
Psalm 51:11 NKJV
Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
The Fact that God will Come in the Flesh, Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God (אֵ֣ל גִּבֹּ֔ור),
Father of an age ( אֲבִיעַ֖ד), Prince of Peace.

Through Immersion John is to Manifest to Israel that Jesus is the Christ, John 1:31

John 1:31 NKJV
I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”
When John Immersed Christ, The Spirit Came Upon Him, John 1:32
John 1:32 (NKJV)
And John testified saying that, “I beheld the Spirit ascending like dove out from heaven, and it remains upon Him.
The One Who Sent John Told Him What to Look For, John 1:33
John 1:33
And I did not intuitively know Him, but the One sending me to immerse in water, that One said to me, upon Whom you should see with discernment the Spirit ascending and remain upon Him, this One is the One immersing by the Holy Spirit.
John Testifies that Jesus is the Son of God, John 1:34
John 1:34
And I saw with discernment and testify that this is the Son of the God.
The Son of God Means He is Equal with God, John 5:18; Philippians 2:6
John 5:18 NKJV
Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.
Philippians 2:6 NKJV
who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
