Ephesians 6:10–20 KJV 1900
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Competing Authorities

Ephesians 2:2 KJV 1900
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Revelation 12:9 KJV 1900
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV 1900
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Ephesians 1:20–21 KJV 1900
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Complete Arsenal

Loins girt with truth

John 8:32 KJV 1900
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 17:17 KJV 1900
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
To say that you are girted about with truth means that you have a grasp of what is actually happening.
Galatians 6:3 KJV 1900
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
James 1:26 KJV 1900
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Breastplate of righteousness

To trust in our human ability to produce righteousness is not enough to defeat the Devil’s slick tactics. We must take up the breastplate of righteousness that is in Christ. Our new man.
Ephesians 4:24 KJV 1900
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 5:8–9 KJV 1900
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Feet shod with the Gospel of Peace

The Gospel message is not simply one of self-preservation. It is a message of reconciliation (peace) between God and mankind.
Ephesians 2:8–10 KJV 1900
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
This Gospel goes far beyond the initial workings of God to the individual who places their faith in Christ.
It is also ment to produce a unification to all people in the bonds of peace.
Being grounded in the Gospel means understanding the reconciliation brought about through the sacrifice of Jesus.
We live out the Gospel when we preach His message to the lost, and when we minister to the saved.
Ephesians 4:3 KJV 1900
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Shield of faith

The way to quench the fiery darts (the subtle and open attacks) of the devil we must maintain our faith in Christ’s work and His power.
Ephesians 6:10 KJV 1900
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Helmet of salvation

Paul is not saying that you can take off your salvation. What this text is saying is that you need to remember that you are saved and already delivered from the enemy.
Your thoughts and imaginations need to be surrendered to Christ.
This text is a reminder to those who have studied the O.T.
Isaiah 59:16–20 KJV 1900
And he saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor: Therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; And his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, And an helmet of salvation upon his head; And he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloke. According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, Fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; To the islands he will repay recompence. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, And his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, And unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

The Word of God

Hebrews 4:12 KJV 1900
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Ephesians 5:25–26 NASB95
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
