Worship

Me:

1. We don’t have a clock

a. I will watch the time

i. I want to be done by 11

ii. There are times when I lose track of time

iii. The Spirit of God takes over

iv. 30 minutes will feel like two seconds

v. It’s amazing

vi. When the Spirit takes over then true worship takes place

By attending church services

Reading the Bible

Preaching

Praying

Music

Giving to needy causes

Having a quiet time

How about being baptized?

The Lord’s Supper?

Joining our church

Observing special days Easter Christmas

Making a Facebook post

b. These are awesome things to do

i. But they are not the basis of true worship

Because We

ii. They are things that we do because we worship

iii. They are the result and activities of worship.

iv. They are not the basis or spirit of worship.

v. They can help us to focus upon God and stir us to worship Him.

c. Then what is true worship?

God:

True Worship

a. The basis of worship

Spirit of God

ii. The Holy Spirit

iii. The Holy Spirit is the spirit the fuel the means by which true worship that’s place

iv. God’s Spirit indwelling your spirit

v. As I stand and preach…

vi. You no longer worships God externally through rituals and ceremonies.

vii. You now worships God inwardly through the Spirit of God who lives within him.

viii. True worship is no longer through anything that is of the physical or material world, no longer of anything that is of man’s flesh.

The Heart of worship

a. Don’t be mislead

i. You can be tricked

ii. You can do all the external things

iii. Attend church Listen to music quiet time etc.

iv. And still be in the depth of sin

v. It can be faked

Through the Spirit of God

i. True worship must be of the heart and spirit.

ii. If your heart is right with God

iii. You come to God with a clean and pure heart

iv. Free from the defilement of sin

v. Then you are worshiping God in the Spirit of God

It’s a wonderful thing

a. The bible says we are the true circumcision

i. We are the true believers

ii. It’s salvation

iii. Our hope our gospel

b. All the things we do

i. They are all wonderful things

ii. They are even commanded by God

iii. They are things that aid us in our heart and spirit worship

Is the heart pure?

i. Or has it been defiled by sin

ii. No matter how far you have gone down the wrong road it’s never too late to turn back.

iii. Come to the cross and be forgiven

iv. Come to the cross and worship

v. Come to the cross and praising God.
