19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
the throne is the ultimate authority of all of creation. Not of the universe, of all of creation.
Faith, more than anything, is a perspective. It’s like glasses kind of.
A proper faith perspective, faith glasses, sees that all of those things are under you!
Principalities, powers, might, dominion, & every name that is named.
How you talk about these things is a fruit, or evidence, of your faith perspective.
I can talk to someone and within just a few seconds, i’ll know what their faith perspective is.
It is the assurance of the TRUTH about 3 things:
God
You
The enemy
If we get those 3 things CORRECT, our words, prayer, and actions, will align with them.
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith gives power, or substance to what is unseen. Whatever your true belief in your heart is about what is unseen, gives power to that unseen thing. Those things have no substance. They aren’t materialized, or manifested, into this world.
What gives us that access is our faith. Therefore if you believe you’re not seated, you’re right!
If you believe you are seated, you’re right!
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
The only thing in our way, is what we see. If we can just relegate what we see to its proper place: as under our feet. As an afterthought. As something totally irrelevant with God, we can then finally start living with excitement.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Bind: to oblige ⇔ bind v. — to oblige, conceived of tying or fastening an obligation onto someone.
Loose: to annul ⇔ unbind v. — to annul, conceived of untying or unfastening an obligation.
“The expressions “bind” and “loose” were common to Jewish legal phraseology meaning to declare something forbidden or to declare it allowed.”
19 I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth [d]will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth [e]will have [already] been loosed in heaven.”
Amplified Bible
So, it is up to us to declare something allowed, or lawful, or to declare something unlawful, or forbidden.
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
SO, what do we have?
Jesus is seated on the ultimate authority over all creation. He’s over all principality, might, power, dominion, and every name that is named.
We’re RAISED and SEATED together with Him.
ANY OTHER perspective on you is unbelief.
To stay off the throne ‘cause you’re unworthy, is rejecting Christ.
He has also passed that authority onto us. The authority doesn’t originate from us, it flows from Him to us. We can pray in His name. We can permit or forbid.
The ONLY obstacle in our way, is what we see.
The enemy’s tool, the way he usurps our authority, is deception. All he has to do, is break our perspective. Break our correct understanding about God, us, or himself.
This guy is extremely busy. He’s rich, knows a lot of really powerful people, had lots and lots of resources but TONS of people ask him for help all the time. You’ve heard stories of him helping people before but he doesn’t help everybody and you’ve asked him for help before and got nothing. Also, you’ve heard tons of stories about other people asking him for help and they got nothing. Now, you’ve got a business, but the business was your idea. You started it with your savings, and a gang of really strong, really evil guys, comes by every day with baseball bats, breaking your windows, stealing money, and harassing your customers.
Now ask this extremely busy guy for help, remembering all the stories of the people who asked him and got nothing.
NOW:
Same guy. He’s extremely busy. He’s rich, knows a lot of really powerful people, had lots and lots of resources but TONS of people ask him for help all the time. BUT, He hired you, and told you whatever you need, just ask Him and he’ll give it to you. Everything He has is available to you to get your job done. Everything. Finances, connections, resources. Anything.
He also said don’t listen to that gang leader. Just tell him to stop and he has to stop.
