What does it mean to walk in God's favor?
To walk in God's favor is to trust God! To walk in God's favor is to care about the oppressed, the needy and the vulnerable. To walk in God's favor is to care for the community and a better world.
Psalm 5:12. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
Psalm 90:17. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
Who in the Bible walked in favor?
Noah God's favor provided Noah protection and deliverance. Abraham received God's favor (Genesis 18:3), and the added distinction of being called God's friend (Isaiah 41:8, James 2:23). Moses also received God's favor, and the unique blessing of seeing God's glory (Exodus 33:17-23).
Joseph is one example of someone in the Bible who walked in favor. In the book of Genesis, it is said that God made him prosperous and gave him favor in the eyes of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. As a result, Joseph was able to rise to a position of great power and influence in Egypt.
Genesis 39:2-5 New International Version (NIV) 2 The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, 4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put Joseph in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.
What are the benefits of walking in the favor of God
1. You Are Highly Favored Because Of Jesus!
A. The Bible tells us that God has made us “accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6). The “Beloved” here refers to Jesus and the word “accepted” in the original Greek text means “given special honor” or “highly favored.”
b. My friend, because you have Jesus who is God’s Beloved, and you are found in Him, you are also God’s beloved son or daughter, deeply loved and highly favored by Him!
c. Now, because you are highly favored by God in the Beloved, you can expect to have favor with your spouse, children, colleagues, clients and yes, even your in-laws!
e.When you speak, people listen. When you step into a room, it lights up. Everything you touch is blessed and increased. Beloved, as the apple of God’s eye, expect good things to happen to you each day. Expect divine protection because His favor surrounds you like a shield. Expect every need to be met by the One who highly favors you. Expect good, because you are precious in His eyes!
Jacob's dream in Genesis 28 is seen as a symbol of God's presence and protection. The ladder is a symbol of the connection between heaven and earth, and the angels represent God's messengers. The dream is a reminder to Jacob that God is with him, even in his time of exile and distress. It is also a promise of protection, as Jacob will soon find himself in the presence of his future father-in-law Laban.
Another interpretation of this passage is that it symbolizes God's promise to make Jacob into a great nation. Throughout the Bible, ladders are often associated with divine favor and favoritism
2. 10 BENEFITS OF THE FAVOR OF GOD
1. Favor produces supernatural increase and promotion Genesis 39:21
2. Favor produces restoration of everything that the enemy has stolen from you. Exodus 3:21
3. Favor produces honor in the midst of your adversaries. Exodus 11:3
4. Favor produces increased assets, especially in the area of real estate. Deuteronomy 33:23
5. Favor produces great victories in the midst of great impossibilities. Joshua 11:20
6. Favor produces recognition, even when you seem the least likely to receive it. I Samuel 16:22
7. Favor produces prominence and preferential treatment. Esther 2:17
8. Favor produces petitions granted even by ungodly civil authorities. Esther 5:8
9. Favor causes policies, rules, regulations and laws to be changed and reversed to your advantage. Esther 8:5
10. Favor produces battles won which you won’t even fight because God will fight them for you. Psalm 44:3
So, these are 10 major benefits that I've seen in my study of the Favor of God! The Psalmist says that we are compassed about by the favor of God. One translation says, "It surrounds us." When you get up every morning, anticipate the favor of God going before you. Anticipate the favor of God surrounding you. Expect favor to open doors every day. Expect these benefits to manifest in your life.
Remember you will get exactly what you expect. If you expect God's favor to surround you, then you will see it. If you don't, then it won't. Your expectations are more powerful than any negative thing that Satan can put before you. They will override the negative no matter how often they may manifest in your life. So expect God's favor in your life and watch what it will do. The set time has come so tap into it!
3. Walking in the favor of God gives him the ability to operate within our lives in the most extraordinary way.
A. We must learn to recognize and appreciate this favor in our lives so that we can receive its full blessing. As you walk with God, he will shower you with his grace and mercy each and every day. You may not even realize it, but His favor is always working behind the scenes on your behalf.
B. Living according to God's will allows Him to work in our lives in powerful ways.
16You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing. apm Ps 145:16 “When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.”
When we choose to live according to God's will, we release a wave of power and divine influence into our lives. This wave unleashes the love, mercy, and compassion of God into our innermost being. We can be assured that His power is coming from a place of deep loving-kindness and total acceptance. Of course, this doesn't mean that life will suddenly become easier for us; instead, it gives us the strength and endurance to face difficulty with grace and courage. Living according to God's will allows Him to work powerfully in our lives; may we always turn towards Him in faith and trust.
C. “But if favor seems hard to find right now, don’t give up. Favor is never bound by circumstances. It can track you down and bless you, even in the hardest of times.” -
Let us hold fast to the promise of favor coming our way, and live in hope for the good that God has planned for us. He is working out His purposes in our lives—even when we can’t see it—and He will not fail to deliver on all His promises. May we be encouraged to continue trusting in this promise of favor, no matter our present circumstances.
We can have confidence that God loves us and is always working on our behalf. No matter what comes our way, His promises remain true and He will not forsake us. He will provide the strength we need to persevere through adversity and difficulty.
4. All of God’s favor is yes and Amen
Message Bible
20-22Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.
2cor 1:20 “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.”
Not only that, you can expect God’s favor. Psalm 30:5 says “His favor lasts a lifetime,” so you can count on the Lord to give you the favor you need in every season of your life.
Everything that we could possibly need in this life we have in the favor of God. He is a faithful and loving Father who cares for us deeply. His favor is extended to us in every aspect of our lives, whether it be physical or spiritual. So let's trust in the Lord knowing that we can receive all the good things He has promised us if we keep seeking Him with all our hearts.
Let’s not be afraid to ask God for favor and His strength. Let’s approach Him with confidence and trust, knowing that He will never forsake us but instead provide us with all that we need in order to live a life of abundance and joy.
So no matter what season you are in right now, remember the Lord is with you always and you can rely on Him for guidance, strength, protection, and favor in every season of your life. All that He does is out of love for us. May the Lord bless us all with His unending grace and mercy! Amen.
Took : What does it mean to walk in God's favor? It means that you are living life within His will and purpose for your life. When you walk in God's favor, you can expect good things to happen because you are obeying Him. You may not always understand why things happen the way they do, but you can trust that God is sovereign and knows what He is doing. If you want to experience more of God's favor in your life, be obedient to His Word and follow His commands.
