2 Timothy 3:1–7 (KJV 1900)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
The letter is intensely personal. Paul is alone at Rome, awaiting trial and certain death. He longs to see his son Timothy and to encourage him to take his place in the ministry of the Gospel. Paul sees apostasy and defeat all around him. Dr. Sidlow Baxter, in Explore the Book, points out that the “some” of 1 Timothy has become “all” in 2 Timothy. “Some have turned aside” (1:6); “some have made shipwreck” (1:19); “some have turned aside after Satan” (5:15); “some have been led astray” (6:10); “some have erred” (6:21)—this is the theme of his first letter. But in 2 Timothy we read: “all have turned away from me” (1:15); “all forsook me”! (4:16) The churches were turning from the faith, and Paul urged young Timothy to be true to his calling and fulfill his ministry. Woven into the exhortations in this letter are the personal sentiments and concerns of the great apostle. This letter is not a “swan song” of defeat; it is an anthem of victory!
If we follow the chapter divisions in our Bible, we see four appeals from Paul to Timothy to encourage him to be a faithful minister in spite of discouraging conditions. Chapter 1 is the pastoral appeal, in which Paul reminds Timothy of his calling to the ministry and of the responsibilities and privileges that go with it. Chapter 2 is the practical appeal, in which Paul seeks to solve some of the young minister’s problems: his persecution for the sake of the Gospel, false teachers, and church difficulties. In chapter 3, Paul uses the prophetic appeal, explaining the course of events and the importance of holding fast to the Word. Finally, chapter 4 gives the personal appeal from the heart of the aged apostle, urging Timothy to remain true because he (Paul) would soon be executed. He did not want Timothy to become another Demas.
1 Timothy 4:1–6 KJV 1900
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
God has called His children to be a holy people that are set apart and different no matter the darkness and no matter the depths of digression.
The unholiness that is being promoted in this world is just staggering.
1 Peter 1:15–16 (KJV 1900)
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
All manner of conversation
Unholy = unsatisfied and unhappy
Unholy = no joy
Unholy = miserable
Holiness leads to happiness and joy
Holy = a person or people that reverence and respect God; Fear of the Lord
Positional holiness comes through Christ
Personal holiness
Unholy = Impure; vulgar; ill-mannered; unclean; lewd
Irreverent to the things of God is what unholiness means.
Entertainment; language; thoughts
There have been those on the team with those who love God but because of unholiness their allegiance has changed from God’s side to the worlds side.
Romans 1:32 KJV 1900
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
“Knowing the judgement of God”
Finding pleasure in unholiness = viewing and entertainment
Mine eye affecteth mine heart
Hebrews 11:24–25 (KJV 1900)
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Authority, power, success, money was associated with being pharaoh’s daughter
A choice to say I’m not loyal to the systems of this world to the god of this world, I’m a citizen of heaven
God doesn’t need undercover Christians, chameleon christians that just blend in - He’s called us to be lights in the darkness completely contrasting this world, the desires of the flesh, and the devil.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with God’s people
Enjoying the pleasure of sin… for a season
Seasons can feel like their long but seasons change
Sin looks pleasurable but the season changes
Unprecedented unholiness
Casting off boundaries - the boundaries of gender roles
Casting off Christian distinctives -
Throwing away God’s word when it contradicts their feelings or desires
Proverbs 12:15 KJV 1900
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: But he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
No restraint in morality
Removing God’s word and plan for humanity causes chaos and leads to depravity and ultimately destruction.
Depravity = corruption, liberalism, lasciviousness, degeneracy, and perversion
In our culture the rule seems to be the more rules you break the more you will be praised the more attention you will get
Our nation is in trouble:
Illegal to reference God in school?
In God We Trust is on our currency
Presidents are Sworn in on the Bible
Intolerance of everyone except Christianity
Religious freedom now means freedom from religion.
Psalm 33:12 KJV 1900
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; And the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
The Lord Jesus is the only one worthy of worship
Proverbs 14:34 KJV 1900
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: But sin is a reproach to any people.
We will continue to preach that sin is a reproach to any people.
Romans 13:9 (KJV 1900)
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery,
Adultery is streamed through the technology devices
Thou shalt not kill,
The unborn the weakest among our population are not protected like they should be.
I‌nfant murder = Infanticide is legal in the borders of our country
Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Bearing false witness is a reproach and yet much of the news media make it’s money by bearing false witness and twisting the truth to fit a particular narrative
Thou shalt not covet; Coveting is a reproach
and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
You see if people love their neighbor they wont kill
If they love their neighbor, they won’t steal from them
It they love their neighbor, they won’t covet what they have
But it’s impossible to love without God
1 John 4:16 KJV 1900
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
If we love God would we be silent about truth?
If we love God and we know that sin is a reproach to any people wouldn’t we proclaim the truth of God’s word so that we can help others get right with their Creator by putting their faith in the Saviour.
Being your best version of you is liberation the World says
The world says be you
The Lord says Joy is found in acting within rules and God
Romans 1:27–28 KJV 1900
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Homosexuality is being promoted and the indoctrination is increasing
We will never let the world’s intimidation
We will never allow our voice to be silenced in regard to truth
We will continue to preach that sin is a reproach
We will be clear to define what is an abomination to God according to scripture
When someone loses the ability to fear God, to tolerate the intolerable, then to encourage what is condemned by God.
There used to be no cursing on tv
Every classroom had the ten commandments
Sports takes place of Bible study
There were two bathrooms - boy and girl
Now there is an indefinite amount of genders
Reading writing and arithmetic
The Supreme Court ruling Edwards v. Aguillard, a case decided in 1987. In this case, the Supreme Court ruled that a Louisiana law requiring the teaching of "creation science" alongside evolution in public schools was unconstitutional because it violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, which prohibits the government from endorsing or promoting a particular religion. The Court held that teaching creationism in public schools has the effect of promoting a particular religious viewpoint, and therefore is unconstitutional. This ruling established the precedent that teaching creationism in public schools is prohibited by the First Amendment's establishment clause.
So in our culture the same people that say that children should be schooled in all types of sexual malfeasance should not be taught the biblical account of creation that has been around long before Darwins 1859 “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life”
Darwin demonstrated how he believed evolution shaped man in his subsequent book The Descent of Man. In it, he theorized that man, having evolved from apes, had continued evolving as various races, with some races more developed than others. Darwin classified his own white race as more advanced than those “lower organisms” such as pygmies, and he called different people groups “savage,” “low,” and “degraded.”
Darwin dreamed up the spontaneous formation of simple life evolving into higher forms through the pitiless forces of nature selecting the fittest.
Darwin believed that different races of humans were at different stages of evolutionary development and that some races were more evolved than others. He believed that the "civilized" races, such as the Europeans, were superior to the "uncivilized" races, such as the indigenous peoples of Africa, Australia, and the Americas. This belief in racial hierarchy was used to justify imperialism and the exploitation of colonized peoples and their lands.
He subscribed to the notion of polygenism, which held that different races of humans were separate species, rather than a single species with common ancestry. This belief was used to support the idea of white superiority and to justify the exploitation and enslavement of people of color.
In this cancel culture, when is Charles Darwin and his ridiculous idea of molecules to man evolution going to be cancelled?
Christianity was historically one of the most important forces opposing slavery, and it eventually ended slavery.
Darwin was wrong. Humans are not split into various races at higher and lower stages of evolution. The Bible makes it clear that God specially created mankind in His image.
No matter what your skin color or ethnic background, your critical need is the same as every other person’s: just like Adam, you have rebelled against your holy Creator and must appear before Him one day.
Thankfully, God will judge the world by the Lord Jesus who died on the Cross as the perfect substitute for sinners who turn to Him in repentance and faith. Jesus Christ’s Resurrection was God’s stamp of approval on His Son’s teachings and sacrificial death for our sin.
We allowed Darwinism into the schools

God’s law’s will prevail
Let’s be bold
