Intro:
- The current culture’s narrative wants to deal with the philosophy of “ the Oppressor” & “the Oppressed”……Marxist Culture.
- The only way to deal with “the oppressor & the oppressed” is to deconstruct the current social structure.
- In order to deconstruct the social structure, the Marxist Culture makes it a point to focus on the disparities between “whites” & “blacks”.
- This Marxist culture pushes the narrative that the disparities have been created by the current social structure.
- The thought is to remove “choice & responsibility” as the underlying issue, but rather focus on blaming the current social structure as the problem.
- Finger pointing removes responsibility and accountability.
Diversity , Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
- DEI seeks to give preferential treatment to those who belong to a certain class, race or sexual orientation regardless of their competency
- DEI- is actually a code for discrimination. It means treating people unequally regardless of their skill and achievements, to achieve an ideologically correct result.
- DEI- is an in insult to minorities because it assumes they cannot compete in the everyday world on the basis of true qualifications for a job.
- It means “lets lower the bar required” in order to allow people within a certain class, race, gender to achieve success or position.
1619 Project
- Teaches America was built on 2 evils.
1. Slavery
2. Capitalism
- They teach both slavery and capitalism were perpetuated by white people in order to hold power. This is being taught in schools
Robert Woodson
“Contrary to CRT ideology, several factors far outpace race in determining educational success. These include family stability, parental involvement, a school and home culture that supports effective study habits and elementary school curricula that prioritizes broadening student knowledge base.”
DEI Creates Division
- The push for this narrative creates division. It puts people in either the “the oppressor” or “the oppressed “ category.
- It divides people by races, political parties and ideologies.
DEI Attacks Objective truth
- DEI pushes the narrative that there is no objective truth. They push that everything is subject to a person's personal experience. They believe that a person's personal experience dictates an individual's truth. They view truth with the lenses of their personal experience to determine what is true to them.
- this also affects how an individual reads a text. This narrative believes that you cannot get what is written by what the text says, but rather you take the cues within the text and interpret the text based on what your experience tells you it means.
-therefore, there is no single correct meaning in a text, only plausible meanings.
- this way of approaching a text is used when looking at the scriptures as well. The thought is that there is no single correct meaning and we are therefore to deconstruct the text and rebuild it to mean and interpret what we think it means based on our experience and preference.
- in Culture Marxism a true interpretation is determined through the lens of power no the words of the text .
- Someone's race or privilege should not be the lens which we interpret the word of God, but rather the text itself should be the lens we should to interpret it.
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Rev. 19:9-12
- the world is deceived by Satan and does not know the truth.
Marxism will use chaos
- Marxism will use chaos to bring about a Marxist state. They understand that order is an impediment to the revolution. Therefore, criminals are protected and victims are left to survive.
-Marx taught that people commit crimes only because they are oppressed. The thought is if you remove the oppressor, remove capitalism, remove white supremacy in power.... crime will decrease
- this removes the human responsibility and accountability by blaming someone else for our actions.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”
The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
DEI attacks the Family Unit
- DEI attacks the family. The National Council on Family Relations claims the nuclear family is an example of "family Supremacy" which is an extension of " white supremacy"
- they are suggesting that the reason for disparities between black and white people are the "lack of resources" rather than "fatherlessness".
- this is a spiritual attack on the family unit. The family unit was designed by God and meant for us to bring Him glory when the family unit is functioning the way that it was created.
Discussion Questions
1. When it comes to real-life situations, what can be the end result when people are chosen without any consideration whatsoever for merit or competency?
- In real life situations, you sacrifice the success or effectiveness of the certain task or goal trying to achieve for the sake of meeting a certain cultures ideological goals.
- In a job you will have a lack of production or effectiveness because of a lack of competency required to accomplish a task.
- In a team , you sacrifice the ability to win, for the sake of being inclusive.
2. When it comes to selecting people to do something, why is competition beneficial?
- competition causes an individual to work harder, or to push themselves to be more competent in a certain task in order to compete against the competition.
- this produces strong character, strong work ethic, it produces the understanding that there is a certain responsibility on the individual to achieve success. I have the ability to improve my chances of success by the amount of work I put in.
Proverbs 12:11 “He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.”
Proverbs 12:24 “The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.”
3. On page 91 in No Reason to Hide, we read, "Let's ask what we need to do to bring people to a higher level of achievement instead of lowering the bar to incentivize mediocrity." Can you think of a time in your own life when being pushed to a higher level of achievement had a positive effect on you? What did you learn?
- As a young apprentice in the electrical industry I was pushed by the older foreman to improve and to learn. They would yell at me and would pressure me to learn and figure it out. This produced and understanding in my own life, that I had two choices. I either quit or I better work hard to learn my trade fast and to be better than others. So I did. It would lead me into management over the very men who pushed me.
- Proverbs 22:29 “Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”
4. Author Tony Evans observes,"Victimology nurtures an unfocused strain of resentment rooted in a defeatist mentality through which all reality is filtered." Why do you think the left's "perpetual casting" of certain people groups as victims is so detrimental?
“victimology perpetuates hate, only forgiveness can bring healing leading to reconciliation”.
“the Marxist Ideology that divides the world into victim and the oppressors while ignoring individual differences works against the betterment of race relations.”
- The victim mentality creates a thought that someone else is to blame for my misfortune or current state. This creates hate or bitterness towards this group I put the blame on. Immediately, a division is made between me and the people I see responsible for my current state.
- The main issue is that it creates a lack of responsibility and accountability for my own choices.
Duet 28:1-2
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
Duet.28:15
However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you
Duet. 30:15-18
Today I am giving you a choice. You can choose life and success or death and disaster. 16-18 I am commanding you to be loyal to the Lord, to live the way he has told you, and to obey his laws and teachings. You are about to cross the Jordan River and take the land that he is giving you. If you obey him, you will live and become successful and powerful.
On the other hand, you might choose to disobey the Lord and reject him. So I'm warning you that if you bow down and worship other gods, you won't have long to live.
5. Based on Bible verses you know, why does it not make sense to say one group of people is always guilty, and another group is always innocent merely on the basis of skin color?
Gen.1:27
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them
Prov.22.2
Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.
Galatians 3:28 – “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
6. On page 110 of No Reason to Hide, we read that CRT "keeps tearing apart what Jesus died to bring together. "Read I Corinthians 12:12-26. What statements in this passage refute the kind of thinking promoted by DEI and CRT?
