Mark 5:1-20“Jesus Mighty Savior”
For decades, anyone living within five or six miles of the hat factory in Denver, Pennsylvania, set their clocks and watches by the sirens the factory set off five days a week. At 5:30 a.m., the wake-up siren would begin the day followed by the starting, lunchtime, and quitting sirens at the designated times. When the siren system was eventually disbanded, a man was reminiscing with the timekeeper about his job. “What did you use to determine the exact time?” With a twinkle in his eye, the man reached in his pocket and pulled out a child’s Mickey Mouse watch.
Some authorities are not as authoritative as they seem. This world seems to be under the authority of the evil one. But, as strong and powerful as he may seem, the authority belongs to Jesus!

Conclusion: This scene is quite amazing as is the one which follows, it shows that Jesus cares for individual people. The God of all the universe and all that is within it loves and cares about you! Jesus left a multitude to pass through a raging storm (possibly satanic in origin) in order to bring salvation to two (though Mark only speaks of one) demon possessed Gentiles. I am convinced that if there were only one person to ever live on earth and that one person sinned, then Jesus would have came and suffered Calvary’s cross for that one lone person, why? Because He loves all the people of the world, I believe Dr. R.G. Lee was right when he said, “Just as one digit is valuable to the multiplication table, and one letter to the alphabet, far more valuable is just one soul in God’s sight.”
Jesus taught that He would build His church and told Peter and the disciples that the gates of hell could not stand in the way. In this text we see just that, Jesus muzzled a storm then cast thousands of demons out of a man in order that he may be saved. Then Jesus left, He came for the one or possibly two and there was nothing Satan or any/all of his soldiers could do. The stronger man certainly had bound the strong man and plundered his house.
