Corrie and her sister Betsy were sent to the infamouse women’s concentration camp... Ravensbruck. There they were harshly treated, starved, and assaulted. Betsy died there in December of 44. Here dying words to Corrie were “there is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still.” Corrie would be released by a clerical mistake 15 days later. A week later, all the women in her age group was sent to the gas chamber.

Some years after the war, Corrie went to Munich with the message of the forgiveness of God, a much needed message for that defeated and disillusioned nation. While in the basement of a building Corrie shares her message, then comes face to face with her most cruel assault at Ravensbruck.

In an instant, her mind was flooded with flashback of a blue uniform and visored hat with the skull and crossbones, a huge room with harsh overhead lights, a pathetic pile of dresses and shoes in the center of the floor. Following hard were a flood of emotions.... the shame of walking naked past this man. She could see her sisters frail form ahead of her, ribs sharp beneath the parchment skin.

“A fine message, Fraulein!” he declared. “How good it is to know that, as you say, all our sins are at the bottom of the sea! You mentioned Ravensbruck in your talk, I was a gaurd there. But, since that time I have become a Christian. I know God has forgiven me of the cruel things I did there, will you forgive me?”

Corrie hesitated, flooded with strong emotions and she prayed for help. Then the warmth of the Lord flooded her heart and with tears filled in her eyes she said. “I for give you brother! With all my heart.”

What an example of restored fellowship. imagine the atrocities experienced at Ravensbruck.... but those don’t hold a candle to the trespasses we commit against the Lord. Yet he forgives us and calls us back to fellowship.

That why I say, fellowship is based on forgiveness, because we are an imperfect race that has fallen from the glorious standard in which God created us and that God expects of us.

It is impossible to live in sin and fellowship with God but fellowship is made possible by the blood of Jesus. What a timely reminder for me and us, that sin in a believer's life breaks fellowship but not relationship and when fellowship is broken we have an ADVOCATE, Jesus Christ the Righteous!

CPS: A key element in fellowship with God is forgiveness of our sins against God, we can KNOW we have fellowship when we confess our sins because our God is faithful and right to forgive. Therefore, we have a personal advocate pleading our case before Him.

Ex: [It is good to have a righteous Defender. When Satan brings some accusation against a believer, the Lord Jesus can point to His finished work on Calvary and say, “Charge that to My account.]
It is impossible on this side of life for a man to be sinless yet John calls the believer to Sin....Less.
ADVOCATE Greek Word “Parakletos” par-ak’-lay-tos, (5x) Found only in the writings of John, its most common use refers to the Holy Spirit, (Helper, Comforter, Counselor) But in 1st John it is used to portray a courtroom scene in which Jesus, the righteous One, intercedes with the Father on the behalf of the sinner.
It’s the Hebrew Idea of Advocacy..

He became our mercy seat, the lid that cover the arm of the covenant where the broken law was kept. The blood covered it!
Jesus our advocate is our propitiation and says on behalf of Him, I rendered payment at Calvary's.
